So if the Yankees don't reach the World Series next year is the new manager a bad manager?
|
|
Yes. If the front office improves the squad, and they end up regressing, then the new manager would have to be fired. If they make the world series and lose, then the manager gets another season. Only because they improved a playoff round. Yankees need to let the new manager know during the interview process that if he fails to take them to the WS, he gets fired.

You're delusional and have no concept of the game. Your standard answer is fire the manager. Try baseball for dummies , it should be a perfect fit for you.

So if the Yankees don't reach the World Series next year is the new manager a bad manager?
Not necessarily...the truth is, what Joe Torre did in his first year as Yankees' manager is the exception, and not the rule...the rule is what Girardi did in his first year with the Yankees...after all those years of making the playoffs under Joe Torre, the Yankees missed the playoffs in Girardi's first year as Yankees manager. Why? Because as a rule, that first yr for a new manager, is a year where they have to get to know the players they have, and how to use them in what situations. So like it or not, and regardless of who the Yankees new manager will be in 2018, I'm expecting a seaon worse than 2017 was. That's my sad expectations due to the reality of the situation.

Girardi is so good(sarcasm), that the Yankees management wanted nothing to do with him for this great Yankees team they have built. It took them long enough to figure out that he is just not a very good manager. He impressed them with his interview presentation in 2007, but I bet they have regretted not picking Mattingly.
