You're  delusional and have no concept  of the game. Your  standard answer is fire the manager. Try baseball for dummies , it should  be a perfect  fit for you.

Girardi is so good(sarcasm), that the Yankees management wanted nothing to do with him for this great Yankees team they have built. It took them long enough to figure out that he is just not a very good manager. He impressed them with his interview presentation in 2007, but I bet they have regretted not picking Mattingly.

I repeat ,  you're  delusional  and know  squat about  baseball . The Yankees  regret nothing about  not hiring  Mattingly , what has he won?

I do not believe the decision to not re-sign Girardi was a baseball decision. I think there was a rift between him and Cashman and Cashman put his ego before what's best for the Yankees.

I know a lot about baseball. It really doesn't matter what you or any other Girardi lover thinks on the subject. The man is now gone and I got my wish.

P.S. Mattingly would have won the title with that 2009 team. Arod was in beast mode. That postseason Yankee team was not going to be denied.

How did some of you survive the 80's with Billy Martin and George Steinbrenner. It seemed George Would Fire Billy then hire someone else and then 2 days latter before the Ink Is even dry on the new Managers Paperwork he Fires the new Manager only to Re Hire Billy Martin 2 days latter. This was an on gowing thing throughout the 80's How many Red Sox Managers have there been In this Century alone? Mind you we are only in the 21st centuryWink

I dont Know, to me 10 years seems fair...

We didn't have the internet, 24 hour news cycles, MLB Network...   We had to wait for the newspaper to read about what happened. In other words, we had lives!

From everything I have read, that sounds likely.

Hopefully they bring in someone who isn't a robot like Girardi.

I think he was not retained because players, mainly the young players, had soured on him. Throwing Sanchez under the bus publicly, earlier this year was not a good move on his part. Take into account some of his line ups, batting orders, pitching changes, and a habit of leaving pitchers in too long, and he may have lost this team at some point. Yeah they still played hard, but in the end, they wanted to win. If the front office is really going to follow this analytics model, they’re setting themselves up for disappointment. It’s a terrible model for winning championships.

Just curious: what specifically about his lineups either lost the team or was unanalytical? I know a lot of people questioned him batting Judge second but according to the SABR writers, it's better to have your best, or one of your best  hitters in the second spot instead of 3rd or 4th since he'll get more ABs in that spot. Did the team rebel because, say, Hicks or Castro didn't bat second?

Sanchez needed to be called out and he had no right to throw a hiissy fight. He is barely in his second year in the majors.
