How did Girardi "call out" Sanchez? I recall him saying that Sanchez needed to focus more on his defense. Was there more, because I don't see that as anything worthy of anyone getting ticked off over.

Totally agree with you bomber ... Girardi did nothing wrong.

I agree wirh your agreement. Girardi has never thrown any of his players under the bus and if anything protected them too much.

But were Yankees fans were spoiled When I was a teenager It seemed we won the world Series every year. Theres the Yankees and theres everybody else. Like It or not there are different expectations for the New York Yankees thats just the way it is.

I'm sure management is not happy with how the 21st century has turned out for the Yankees so far (only 1 world championship...and yes, the year 2000 does NOT count as the 21st century, since there was never a year 0). So far in the 21st century, if people want to consider the closest thing to a dynasty, the  Red Sox and Giants have both won 3 World Series titles, and the St. Louis Cardinals have won 2. All other teams (including the Yankees) that have gone to the WS in the 21st century, have only won once. This presents a problem for Yankee management, especially since the Red Sox, Giants AND Cardinals are all Yankee foes. In other words, I'm sure management is looking to turn the 21st century Yankees, into the championship machine the 20th century Yankees were...not an east task today, with all the rules, regulations, luxury taxes, and the playoff structure that exist, which didn't exist for the most part, during the 20th century.

A century is 100 years.  Most people agree that the 21st century began on 1/1/2000.  The 'there was no year zero' argument is pointless.  It's not like time began in year one.  With that logic then the 90s does not include 1990....

Correct...the 90's were from 1991-2000...the last Yankees dynasty decade.

Jerry was wrong!  When were all the cool parties?  News Years Eve 1999!  End of the century!  Got to follow the party!

I went to Newman's at midnight on 12/31/99...no one was there.

I just read a tweet from Gary Sanchez... " Thank you Joe for all your help and support. I will always be grateful."

Lola, now that you mentioned Sanchez, I wonder if how Girardi handled the whole Sanchez/passed balls situation during the summer could have led to Girardi being let go.

Thanks Joe. I respect you as well and hope it shows, especially when our opinions diverge.

Shows a lot of class by the young man. I think you are right in that there is too much of a script being pushed right now about Girardi's inability to deal with younger players. Whomever is feeding the storyline should quit it. Let the guy go out with dignity.
