Joe Girardi has agreed to join MLB Network, the Sporting News reported.

The former Yankees manager had hinted he wanted to return to broadcasting after the team decided not to bring him back following its surprising run to Game 7 of the ALCS.

Girardi was considered a fringe candidate for ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” booth, a source recently said, but that gig went to Alex Rodriguez. Aaron Boone left that job to replace Girardi as the Yankees manager.

Girardi had previously worked for the YES Network and used that as a springboard for the manager’s job, but he was not interested in being so close to his former players."

Boone: You know my mama wanted me to be a Manager.

Judge: My dad wanted me to be a baseball player.

Boone: Well you're better than any player I ever had. And you're the best God damn player I ever saw. Suit up.

I would think he'd want to take at least a year away from managing before looking for another of those jobs.

Congratulations Joe Girardi!!!!!!!

If Boone doesn't work out this year, Joe might be back again.

He's  biding  his time until  Maddon retires in a couple  of  years  and he takes  the  Cubs  job , something  he's  coveted.
