According to Ken Rosenthal Gleyber actually requires 20 days in the minors to extend his arbitration clock so would be available for call up after Wednesday.  That would peg Thursday at home vs. the Blue Jays as the most likely time to see a Gleyber Torres debut.  After a rocky Spring Gleyber is slashing .370/.379/.556 in his first seven games.  Railrider's manager Bobby Mitchell said “I think if they called him up now, he could definitely compete up there now.  There’s just certain things for him to become the player that he wants to become and can become. Things that he needs to refine and get better at. But, it’s not about just hitting when you go up there. It’s about whole, every aspect of the game that you need to try to master. And he’s trying and he’s doing a great job and he’s moving right along. I mean, he’s not far, obviously. I think, if they called him up, I think he’d be fine. He’d probably learn on the fly.”

Torres has been playing 2B and 3B so I figure they could demote Miguel Andujar potentially getting another year of service time out of him while getting him to swing the bat better.

For who?  Gregorius is our everyday SS, Walker can play 1B, 2B, and 3B, Torreyes can play 2B, 3B, and SS, Wade can play 2B and SS, and Austin only plays 1B and will be suspended soon.  Until we bring back Drury or another person to play 1B I think they stick with Wade or Andujar.  Maybe they bring Jace Peterson back.

Why don't you want Torres?  Don't think he's ready because he is the future.  The Yankees seem to be in no rush to return Drury while they try to figure out what's causing the migraines.  There is a very good likelyhood they don't discover the cause.

While many have been casting Gleyber as the 2B of the future, or even suggesting he should replace Didi at SS (crazy) I have seen Gleyber at 3B since Yanks acquired him. Most reports I had seen on him were "quick reflexes, canon arm, limited range" which screams 3B to me. I saw him quite a bit in AZFL and his defense at 2B/SS was adequate, but nothing to suggest anything above average.

Well 3B has not been an asset for the Yankees so far this season.  Between Drury, Andujar, and Torreyes the Yankees have a .206/.257/.309 slash at 3B with 5 errors in 34 chances.

They only bring Torres up out of desperation, these kids, Andujar/Torres/Wade are not ready yet.. I'm not sure Wade is major league good ?? They all need another full year, we have the players if they are healthy, Ca$hman wouldn't have made the trades he did in the week or so before the season started if they thought any of these kids were ML ready..
