Exactly.  I will say one thing that I am waiting for is for this team to all get it together at once.  It has not happened yet.  It did for a game or two when Andujar and Torres got here early on. Can you imagine when Sanchez comes back and we see Judge, Stanton, Sanchez, Didi, Bird, Torres,  Andujar and Hicks all hot at once for about a week?

They don't all have to get hot at the same time, just hit to the back of their baseball cards would be nice...

I would take that, because they haven't done that either. All hot at once is more of a wish than anything. Hard to get a team that strikes out a lot to all do well at once. These strike outs are wearing me out. The people who say that strike outs are meaningless are just plain uninformed nerds. Strike outs still do not move runners, they still don't score runners, they do absolutely nothing to help any part of a baseball team to win a game. TO say they are meaningless is just ignorant. When you put a ball in play anything can happen.  When you strike out nothing can happen.

The strikeouts are annoying me also.

They annoy me too, but that's what you're going to get with a homerun team. They have 160 homers, 30 more than the next team and the strikeouts are going to happen with taht lineup. BTW strikeouts are up enormously throughout MLB.

I know all that ... but I can't help but get annoyed when men are on base and someone strikes out ... but I grumble to myself usually.

Called third strikes down the middle annoy me the most and I don't grumble to myself.

That pitch yesterday, down the middle to Stanton had me saying a few choice words!

Me too like WTF, except it wasn't the initials.

That makes three of us.

I am with you. Yankees players do this all the time. Especially Stanton and Judge. This borders somwhere between frustrating and disgusting. It has gotten to the point that I expect these guys to strike out and am surprised when they don't. I know the game is different now but in my opinion the Yankees still shouldn't be striking out nearly as much as they are. And I blame the Yankees management and their stupid analytics. The Yankees have no issue at all with strikeouts and seem willing to trade them off for home runs. And what upsets me the most is the players don't have a two strike approach. No trying to fight off tough pitches. They seem to have no issue taking pitches even with two strikes. It appears to me they are guess hitters and if they don't get the exact pitch they are looking for they won't swing at all and hope the pitch is called a ball. They have a hitting philosophy that goes against everything I learned growing up.  There is no emphasis at all in putting the bat on the ball with runners on base. None. And two other things I often hear people say that I don't agree with. A walk is as good as a hit. Not true because unless you walk with the bases loaded you are not going to drive in a run. And the other one is an out is an out so it makes no difference whether you strike out or make an out putting the ball into play. It may be true when you are batting with nobody on base but with runners on base no way. A strikeout almost never leads to anything good unless the ball gets by the catcher which doesn't happen very often and if you make contact there is always a chance the opposing team might make an error or you get a lucky hit even if you don't hit the ball hard. In my opinion hitting the ball softly gives you a much better chance than not hitting it at all.

Look, we have Three home run hitters primarily. Judge, Stanton, and Sanchez. Even though Hicks and Didi and Torres and Gardy and Andujar can hit double figures with Homers, THAT IS NOT WHY THEY ARE HERE. We are very fortunate to have those guys mashing homers.  But getting back to the big three boppers.  Judge should be in the 3 spot, because he has an average also, and a great on base %, plus power.  I don't give to flips what the hell the analytics say... he would be leading MLB hitting 3rd or 4th in RBI's and make JD Martinez an "also ran."

Stanton and Sanchez.  Sanchez does not have the average to hit 4th or fifth. Didi is a free swinger and Sanchez always looks for the meatball pitch. For that reason putting those guys close together in the lineup is crazy when they are not hitting homeruns in bunches like the last few games. It is a tough line up to set I will say that. But I don't ever want to see this lineup. Judge Stanton Sanchez, all three together or Judge Didi Stanton Sanchez. You can't have strikeout guys that close together.

How many times do we have bases loaded and don't score when one of the big three is up? How many granny's do they have among them in 2018? How many times is there a man on 3rd base and then Didi or Stanton is up with one out and no one scores him? These are the games we lose. But...it is also how we have won a ton of games as well with a sac fly, or a "ball in play".

Stanton for some reason has gotten way more balls in play and singles lately than he had in the first half.  That's good.  That is why his at bat with Gardy on third and one out and him swinging for the fences and then staring at strike three was so mind boggling. I may be off base here but Judge I am definitely right about.  He should not hit 2nd.

I know Mike Trout hits there, so all of a sudden it is the thing to do, but IMO someday soon, Judge will be better than Trout if he cuts down on his strikeouts.  He can run, play defense and hit bombs as good as Trout and has more power than Trout right now. Just don't think 3 guys like our mashers should be close together in the line up. Why?  Most times those three guys will contribute to a one two three inning.  Seen it, and seen enough of it. Saying strike outs is part of the game so we have to accept it is nuts. I say accept it, but spread out big three and eliminate the chance of a 1 2 3 inning all the time.

PS: I really like Walker but c'mon man, Wade is starting to look like the prospect the Yankees wanted.  We don't need Walker. Wade has a better glove, and is lightning fast, and his contact with the lumber is coming around.  Play him more Aaron! Of course Torres will be back after the AS break so that point is moot.  Never mind. lol...Frown

I think young Mr. Wade has increased his value as a part of a trade chip if needed...

We have a lot of guys on this team that can hit home runs, and sometimes they try to hard to hit that home run in my books ?? We need to get better at not striking out so much, if we could cut down on our strikeouts I think we would be a much better team and that would lead to more wins...
