btw this is the same idiot who started that "historic" thread about the yankees can't beat the astros this season after charlie morton beat us the 1st game of the season series. guess what happened next?? we win 5 of the next 6 disproving that theory. so what does he do after our 5 game win streak (including 2 against those same astros) is broken, lying in the weeds, he starts another thread about finding the secret to beating us and of course those same astros have that secret. either he's a total troll or totally unknowledgeable about the game. either or ...

My last comment on beating the Stros this year. The Stros had their run, they're done. The hunger is gone, the Yankees are loaded with FAR MORE talent than the Stros. In fact, I see the Red Sox as a tougher opponent for us this year than the Stros, because the Sox at least have a legitimate closer. THE END!

The secret to beating the Yankees is simple, if Judge, Stanton, and Sanchez stay in their strikeout mode they are in, that's how it will happen... I know players go into slumps etc., but these guys need to put more balls in play, especially against teams like Detroit.. We had a lot of chances to win last nights game, yet no contact, not even a fly ball is the reason for those kinds of loses...

Thank you just said the same thing I said. Judge, Stanton and Sanchez strikeout mostly against top right-handed pitching. That being said the Yankees don't have hitters that put tough at-bats against good pitching. Other than Glyeber Torres, mostly everyone else strikes out too often. The Astros have Altuve, Correa, Guriel and Bregman. It's not about just not striking out but being able to hit in situations with runners on base. It seems to me that most of the Yankees swing all the time for home runs. Last night was a perfect example. The had runners on third several times but couldn't make contact when it was needed.

The Red Sox have Betts, Benintendi and Pedroia. I wish the Yankees had more contact hitters. This team is starting to resemble the teams with ARod, Sheffield and Giambi.

Easy solution, go follow the Red Sox because you certainly aren't a Yankee fan.

Home run hitters go hand and hand, they seem to average more strikeouts than hitters that hit more for average... Wink Sounds like something Yogi would say... LOL...

I'm more of a Yankee Fan than you. What kind of a fan are you that doesn't see the flaws of the team? Don't you think that Cashman is seeing the same thing? Don't you want the team to get better? You sound like one of these modern fans that only care about home run distance, exit velocity and the other sabermetric crap. Real baseball fans know how the game is really played.

I've been following baseball and the Yankees since 1955 kid, so don't give me this crap about real baseball fans know how the game is really played. You're one of those whiny, what have you done for me lately people that are never satisfied. You're the one that thinks they should win every game and have an All Star at every position who never strikes out or goes into a slump. Don't try hiding behind the lie that you're a long time fan because there are so many holes in your threads that expose you as a young punk its ridiculous. Stick to your fantasy baseball you'll win every time.
