Wondering why no Judge in the lineup?

Must be a sabermetrics thing.I would have started Romine instead of Sanchez too.

The Yankees' lineup won't include right fielder Aaron Judge, who is getting a rest the day after hitting an eighth-inning tie-breaking homer in a 4-3 win on Saturday.

I'm tired of Boone benching players the day after they had a homerun.

Does this have anything to do with Judge and his thumb getting the day off? I know I’m going to get “no he hit a homer in yesterday” but just a thought.

I was wondering the same thing ... hope it's just a day off ... but it seems to me that every time someone has a big homerun, Boone gives them the day off the next day ... how does anyone get into a groove that way?

Feels like a trap game, with a legitimate Cy Young candidate going for the Yanks and the Mets pulling a guy from the bullpen.

Boone has taken a page from the Girardi binder. Resting guys when they are hot or after a good game. And continue to play slumping guys when they are getting deeper and deeper into their slumps. Sanchez now is a complete mess and not only does Boone continue playing him but bats him 4th in the lineup. I don't get it. I am not saying Romine should be the number 1 catcher but would it have hurt to let him catch Severino tonight? Esspecially considering Romine caught Sevy's last two starts and did very well. But Sevy usually does well no matter who catches him. But I think Romine should have been in there tonight. Just my two cents.

So I guess we'll use this as the game thread?
