Wow Hicks....Poor at bat...Too much pressure

What is this love affair with Aaron Hicks? What has he done in his career to make people think he is even a decent major league hitter? And Boone makes things worse by sticking him in the middle of the lineup.Mostly 6th and sometimes 5th. He is often the protection for players like Stanton and Sanchez. No wonder they have underperformed. Honestly I would much rather see Frazier brought up and put into the lineup even if it meant giving up some defense. Hicks defense is decent but it is not good enough to keep him in the regular lineup. He either needs to be the 4th outfielder or off the team completely.

Agree with you 100%...Not clutch at all

Has Hicks ever gotten a clutch hit late in a game since he became a Yankee? Since this is his third year with the Yankees he probably has but honestly I don't remember any specific ones. And Frazier in my opinion is getting a raw deal from the Yankees. What does he have to do at Scranton for them to give him a chance? They can find a spot for him if they wanted to but it is obvious they don't want to.

They can find a spot for him if they wanted but it is obvious they  don't  want to? Really? Frazier isn't  a center fielder and they have Judge, Gardner  and Stanton for the corners. What spot would you like them to find for him?

duck!! they were chompin at the bit and started a couple innings ago. some of the recent whipping boys had good games or did not play but i suspect gray, shreve & hicks will top tonight's hit parade. as new said, we've played pretty well for a last place team ...

Shreve is who he is. Not a big factor on the team. Probably the 7th reliever out of a 8 man bullpen. He has to pitch sometimes and tonight with 4 lefties batting out of 5 hitters was the time to bring him in. But he wound up facing one lefty too many.

Gray especially with Tanaka out has to stay in the rotation. I knew this was going to be a very tough matchup for him and Gray generally doesn't pitch well at home. Honestly I didn't expect much from him tonight.

But Hicks is another story. He plays way too much and it is unbelievable that a team with World Series aspitations continues to run him out there almost every day. I don't get it. He should be a role player and if he was people wouldn't get on him because he would not be playing enough to hurt the team. But he is really being exposed as a starting player.

Play Gardner in center and let Frazier and Stanton alternate between left field and dh. I would much rather do that than continue to play Hicks every day. You may not agree with me but this team can use more offense. I might be wrong about this but I believe in the last seven games the Yankees have scored a total of one run that wasn't on either a home run or sacrifice fly. That is a problem.

I would also bet money that if the Yankees fail in the postseason it will be because the team didn't hit and not because they didn't pitch. In the past including last season it was lack of hitting that always knocked the Yankees out of the playoffs. That is why I wouldn't go crazy in adding a starting pitcher. Yes I think they need one for depth but I wouldn't give up a lot especially that I don't think an ace will be available. But even if they got an ace it wouldn't guarantee anything. I also think it wouldn't hurt to add a reliever to make a strong bullpen even stronger.

Hicks/Karter is a big WTF. On and on. So what's going on with Ellsbury?

Hicks has already established who he is over a number of years. You can't compare him with Frazier who had 142 plate appearances last season and 11 so far this season. Come on be fair. If you want to be the leader of the Aaron Hicks fan club go right ahead. I can't stop you. But I don't like Hicks as a player at all and never did. I don't think he offers much to the team especially as a starting player.  I think the Yankees need to try to keep getting better even though they have a great record and I think Frazier over Hicks would be an upgrade.

Who do you think has more trade value? Hicks or Frazier. I think a lot of teams like Frazier's potential and Hicks would bring you little back in a trade. I don't think there are many teams that think Hicks is a starting major league outfielder.

The Yankees have always through the years had love affairs with players most of us knew weren't that good. And I don't even think Hicks defense is all that special. All I will say is his defense is better than his offense which isn't saying much. But for some reason the Yankees love him and Boone makes things worse by batting him more often than not in the middle of the lineup. This makes no sense because he never was a run producer.

LOL That's a new one...now we want Hicks outta there so badly, we're asking for Ellsbury. Yeah, I too have had it with Hicks. Mediocrity is the best he'll ever achieve in the majors. At least we'll still have the fist 2 months of 2017 to remember him by...what could've been, never materialized.
