You know what's bad for ones mental health..... SCOREBOARD WATCHING IN JULY!!!
The media keeps whipping us up into a frenzy over this Yankees-Sox pennant race and as a result there are so many Yankee fans obsessed with what the Sox are doing and it's making them insane.
Arron Judge is always saying we can only control what we can control. To me that's sound advice and I wish a lot of you posters would follow it.
I know that the Sox are going to hit a losing skid here soon. That's baseball and it happens to EVERY team. So I don't worry about that. I know that in the last series against the Sox we whipped them pretty good 2 out of 3. I know that the next time we play them we'll do it again!!
Enjoy the season everyone and realize that we are only going to get better. Gary and Gleyber will be back soon and Cashman will do what he always does and make the team stronger.
That's a scary thought considering how good we have been thus far. We have a great team people. Enjoy them! Smile

I've come to believe we have 2 camps. The positive and the negative. Niether side is going to change the others opinion. Im sick of reading Mikedrob telling us in his long drawn out posts how much better the Sox are. That's his opinion... we get it already!
I'll keep my pom poms and keep rooting for my guys through the highs and lows of the season.
I believe we've got a great team... im enjoying the ride!

Well in fairness they can control beating the Baltimore Orioles though, baseball's worst team. However they are .500 against them on the season, while the Sox are 8 gaves over .500 against the Orioles, that is pretty much the difference in the standings today. Would it shock you if they split the next 2 games, especially with Sonny Gray pitching the finale. Part of it is fans certainly expect the Yankees to be beating up on the Orioles as the Red Sox have done, i.e. take advantage of creampuffs but so far on the season the Yankees have not capitalized on playing Baltimore, but seem to struggle with playing them for whatever reason.

Yeah, I know Lola. I just wish people would realize what we have. Realize what it means to be a Yankees fan. It really is something special. Mike should just look at the season series against the Sox. We're up a game against them on the year but to listen to him you would have thought they have swept us every series. It's just crazy. But I guess you're right. Can't change peoples minds even if it is for the better.

Really glad there are fans like you here Lola! You're a true fan and I appreciate that!

I don't believe he is necessarily suggesting the Sox are head over heels better than the Yankees, but that they beat up the terrible teams, taking advantage of playing those teams and they hit better in areas the Yankees hitting drops off, such as with men on base and in scoring position. If you look at the statitistics these are facts, its not being made up by folks trolling or hating on the Yankees.

I am a diehard Yankee fan but I recognize the areas of weakness for the team and want to see those areas improve for the betterment of the team in the 2nd half. On the positive side I realize our bullpen is a strength, Severino is our ace and would get the ball in a big game, they have young blossoming talent like Torres and Andujar who are contributing, German looks like he has decent stuff and might improve over time.

I also realize the rotation has questions after Severino, Tanaka can pitch a shutout or he could give up 4 runs on a given night, Sabathia's job is to keep us in the game, which he has done in most of his starts, Sonny Gray is a complete headcase. The forum would be pretty steile place if all we had was one sided Yankees rule or Yankees suck comments.

Did you even read what I wrote Mac? Numbers numbers numbers. That's all you and so many others want to talk about. Sometimes the numbers don't tell the whole story. When it's all said and done the Yankees, like they have done so many times in the past, will prove they are the best team in baseball. That's faith talking there Mac. I believe that and so I don't worry about what the numbers say.

Read all his posts, that's exactly what he says over and over and over. It's not what he and some others say, it's the redundancy every single day. All of us know the problems this team has, but all teams have problems and this one has far fewer than most and it's not necessary to post the same thing several times. Some people have been star struck by Boston and the way they're playing and it causes them to get their panties in a knot when the Yankees have a bad game.
