There's no more appealing starter than Mad Bum IMO.   A fantastic lefty and a complete animal in the post season - very firey, intense guy as well.

And I'd take one side of Belt with him please, that would settle 1b for a while - Brandon Belt is at worst rock solid and in Yankee Stadium may really blossom in the power department.

It would take a huge package just to get Mad Bum - but I'm excited that he seems to really be available, never thought the Giants would deal him.

i'll believe when i see it, but mad bum could be the missing piece even if we continue to struggle at 1B, though i suspect cashman's looking to fix that as well.

To get Mad Bum and Belt both? Personally that might force my hand to trade Andujar, Sheffield, Bird, and Frazier.

It might cost that much for just Bumgarner, depending if other teams join in and bid the price up.

Belt's 3 year extension at $17.3 per kicks in next year. He is having a good season, but I think he is overprieced at that rate. It might cost more for just Bumgarner than for the two of them.

I wouldn't count on Bumgarner being traded during this season. It would send a very bad message to the SF Giant fans. The Giants are a mere 3 games out of first place in the NL West, and only 4 games out of a WC slot. Being in both races, I can't see them quitting on the season.

They may look to move him after the season, if they feel they won't be able to meet his price on a new contract. The team still holds a very reasonable $12m option on him for 2019. He is one of their most affordable contarcts currently, and for next year.

Andujar and Torres are both untouchables. They are both a big part of the present and foreseable future for the Yankees.
