I've watched thousands of games and have seen dozens of great Yankee teams - every great team goes through rough patches.  The only reason many people are upset is that the team ahead of us is hot.  They'll cool off, and this is going down to the wire.

Yes they will cool off, but the Yanks' inabilty to dominate the bad teams has been season long.   Against Tor, Balt, Tampa, KC, Detroit, TX and the LAA the Yanks are 28-18.  Not bad, but the RS are 42-10 against those same teams.  Basically the RS have used the sad sacks to fashion an 11 game advantage.

So what?  With all that being said the Yankees are still close enough to first place to overtake it when the Red Sox slide ... which they will ... as every team eventually does.

Bottom line the Yankees spit the bit against a very bad team, and now we have to hold our breath because the Yankees have a pitcher scheduled to pitch that is a poor  pitcher at best, and we have to rely on him to get us a split series against that very bad team. A split against the worst team in our division and we are all uncertain if he can do it.  Terrific. If he fails here, then the Yankees can determine when he will either be bull pen fodder, or is someone we can trade for a bag of skittles for when the real pitchers need a sugar rush.

We're just a bit banged up right now. We have Tanaka back, which is a good start. Once we get Gleyber and the Kraken back, we should be firing on all cylinders again. What we really need is for Boston to stop playing out of their minds so we can breathe.
