Surprised to see that Stanton leads MLB with the most hits since June 18th. Coming up big.

Can Boone please put Walker at 1st and leave him there.

That would be the ultimate slap in the face for Bird, wouldn't it?

Toronto pounded Porcello tonight for 7 runs. The same guy who one-hit the Yankees. Like I've said, after Sale, Boston starters are nothing special.

Yep, been saying that as well about them. No one is quaking in their boots about facing their rotation in a playoff matchup.

They could be the classic case of a team that runs rampant through the regular season pounding the weaker teams night in and night out, as you should, but because of playoff series pitching matchups gets booted from the playoffs.

Astros rotation I'd take any day over Bostons.

Walker is hitting nearly .300 over his last 30 games.  Regular playng time has helped  Bird had a good (for him) July hitting .265 for the month with 4 HR, 19 RBI.  August, not so good.  So far 3/32 (.094) no HRs or RBI.  Makes you wonder if his July is the equivalent of a water hole mirage in the desert.

Then the other night he hit a roller back to the 1B and didn't really bust it out of the box.   Sure he is out 99% of the time.  But so was Sanchez on the play where he jogged to 1B.

Not that long ago many here were calling for Walker to be DFA. Probably many of the same people now calling for him to take Bird's place.

For every Walker there are two Drews and Carters.  Let’s hope that Bird rewards the patience of the Hankees and never again hits like the last two seasons
