Not that long ago many here were calling for Walker to be DFA. Probably many of the same people now calling for him to take Bird's place.

For every Walker there are two Drews and Carters.  Let’s hope that Bird rewards the patience of the Hankees and never again hits like the last two seasons

I can't imagine any loyal Yankee fans wishing for Bird's failure.  There may be a few out there who have predicted his demise and would rather be right.  I hope he breaks out big time, but we have to face the possibility that it won't be this season.  Bird does have options remaining...

Lots of bandwagon jumpers. Some who just live to trash players. See it every year.

I was hoping he would turn into a good player. I think he has talent but right now looks terrible. Has had a bad year. Career .220 something hitter. Injuries for sure hurt him. They are in a playoff push. Oakland is hot. Boston is on fire. Walkers been a pro. Was good last year. Needs at bats to produce. How long do they wait ?

I'd guess most Yankee fans are disappointed in the season Bird is having and wanted him to outplay Walker. But he hasn't and these games count. At the minumum we want last ups in a play in game and that is far from a lock.

That's the 525,300 USD question.

Yea I want him to do good but these games matter. With Judge out even more important to get a contribution from him. Thought he had a sweet swing. Maybe he's still hurt. He has hid it before . If not either way he's hurting the team.

That seems to be the consensus opinion on this board.

I know. I actually feel bad for him. Has to be tearing him up but these games right now are so important. Walker has a resume. Bird doesn't yet.
