Probably a very nice guy, family man and community guy, but he needs to be removed as pitching coach of the Yankees. He can't fix struggling pitchers, can't recognize when a pitcher is in trouble before he loads the bases with no outs and allows 6 runs. From what I see, he has been absolutely no help to Boone in game time decisions all year and especially during this critical stretch of games. As a rookie manager, Boone needed help in this area and has received none. Time for Larry to move on.

Leaving a pitcher in or making a pitching change is ultimately the manager's decision. Here it is September and Boone is making the same dumb rookie mistakes in this are he was making back in April. If you think it is Rothschild's responsibiluity why wasn't it a problem under Girardi?

I think he should go because he doesn't work with the pitchers well enough.

Larry has years of experience. Since 2011, the pitching staff has beaten the average ERA of all teams. Not too shabby. We had the best bullpen in the league. Our starters gave up the third fewest runs in the league. Kay kept asking Cone and O'Neill to compare the 2018 with the 1998 Yankees. Then the bottom fell out. Our run production and pitching wavered. I am not sure whether to blame the players or the coaching staff. Maybe if the Yankees can dominate Boston the team will get their mojo back but consistently losing to sub .500 teams s not instilling any confidence for a deep playoff run.

Of course it's the managers decision, I'm not saying it's not. What I'm saying is it appears he gives Boone no assistance in that area. It wasn't a problem under Girardi because Girardi had 10 years experience, Boone has zero and needs all the help he can get.

Mo I agree with you. It is time for Cashman to bring a new Pitching Coach. Boone did not have the luxury of picking is own.

When is Brent Strom's contract up in Houston? Is everyone satisfied that we have the best available hitting coach?

That may be the very reason Rothschild's job is safe. He was hand picked by Cashman.

It's not personal Larry, strictly business. Time to go home to the wife and watch the grandkids grow.
