Probably a very nice guy, family man and community guy, but he needs to be removed as pitching coach of the Yankees. He can't fix struggling pitchers, can't recognize when a pitcher is in trouble before he loads the bases with no outs and allows 6 runs. From what I see, he has been absolutely no help to Boone in game time decisions all year and especially during this critical stretch of games. As a rookie manager, Boone needed help in this area and has received none. Time for Larry to move on.

It's not personal Larry, strictly business.  Time to go home to the wife and watch the grandkids grow.

I really never understand the role of a pitching coach ?? I know he's supposed to work with the pitchers, he's supposed to be able to find the good and get rid of the bad things they do, but still what confuses me is why is it up to the head coach to make all the pitching moves/decisions game time ?? Same goes for the other coaches, hitting coaches, coaches that work with catchers, infielder coaches etc. ?? I understand that Boone is the head coach, but he's shown lack of knowledge from a rookie manager and I think he should depend on his coaches to make some of these calls ????

Probably not.  And why the hell was Gray pitching last night?? or any night for that matter?  Are they trying to hand that playoff spot away ?
