Nobody knows what the relationshio bertween Boone and Rothschild is.  But three possible scenarios:

Because Rothschild is not "his" guy, Boone doesn't solicit his advice as to pitching changes

He does listen to Rothschild but makes own decisions

Almost all the pitching moves are Rothschild's.

Regardless, Boone is the manager and he is ultimately responsible for the terrible pen management.

Cashman is the one who need to kick rocks. He’s a failure when it comes to establishing a winning rotation. There’s always excuses, year after year for this middling GM. Yeah let’s get rid of Rothschild, bc ya know, he brought Sonny Gray over here Undecided

When Cashman  brought in Gray he was a good pitcher ,  check his record .  Having problems  this year was not fixed by Rothschild .

Fly ball pitcher in a huge ballpark. Bad fit for our stadium. Poorly scouted by Cashs crew.

Gray's  problems were not  fly balls, it was loss of command. Too many balls  left in the zone. When he lost command  he gave up a lot of walks, singles  and doubles not so much homeruns.

Larry has years of experience. Since 2011, the pitching staff has beaten the average ERA of all teams. Not too shabby.

We had the best bullpen in the league. Our starters gave up the third fewest runs in the league.

Kay kept asking Cone and O'Neill to compare the 2018 with the 1998 Yankees.

Then the bottom fell out. Our run production and pitching wavered. I am not sure whether to blame the players or the coaching staff.

Maybe if the Yankees can dominate Boston the team will get their mojo back but consistently losing to sub .500 teams s not instilling any confidence for a deep playoff run.

They look like they don't really care while losing to the dredges of the league either.  Looks like they're playing out the string...

He should really watch where he leaves his balls...
