Your thoughts on what moves need to be made to improve this team.

Disappointing end to a great season. Obviously lost to a better team. Flaws really exposed this postseason.
 Flaws

No Ace starting pitcher.
 Weak defense at key positions.
To HR reliant. Won their only game when they went deep. Not made to win in the postseason.
To many strikeout low average hitters.
 No team speed.
It was obvious watching Boston besides a better bench they excelled in these area's. Houston to.
Questions that need to be answered.
Is Andujar's glove going to get better?
Is Sanchez going to improve behind the plate? His bat has to improve but will it offset his defense? Same with Andujar. Is Voit the real deal?
Players I think they should move on from .
CC - Thanks for the great run.
 Gardner. Thanks again. It's time.
Happ- Picked up to beat Boston and failed miserably when needed.
McCutchen- Nice player. Best days behind him . Move on.
 Adds
Corbin obviously. Eovaldi's cutter really impressed me. Still young power arm.
I would bring Britton back with the concerns about Chapman. Not sure about Robertson.
Now if the Mets or Giants are willing to part with DeGrom which I doubt or the Giants with Baumgartner I would put Andujar and Sheffield in play.
If that works Machado with his age and glove would be the move to make.
Still other moves need to be made but just kicking it around. I really like Andujar but I have a feeling he isn't going to stay at 3rd. To shaky there.I think Devers will end up being the better all around 3rd baseman if Andujar stays there.
A little early. Not sure of the other free agent options but they are under and improvements need to be made.

I'd say yes to all your points, except.

1.  We've done the Eovaldi thing, enough.

2.  No to Machado, yes to Harper (in the absence of McCutchen and Gardner

Start by firing Boone and Larry R, early in the off-season, and replace them ASAP.    Want the new manager and pitching coach looped in to all the player moves.

Get the luxury tax rate officially reset!  And hope the FA market is as slow as it was last year once the big names are off of the board.

You'll have Sevy, Tanaka and eventually Monty back next year.   I think Corbin is a perfect fit.   If by some wild chance the Dodgers don't re-sign Kershaw I'd be extremely tempted, but I think he'll stay in LA.

Beyond those guys, I think Sheffield should be getting his shot.

Happ overall was very good here and if he would take reasonable deal I'd probably just bring him back.

But I would also be shopping Sevy.   Would the Mets give up DeGrom for Sevy?   Basically it would take a top pitcher for me to give him up, but I think teams may do that for Sevy if said top pitcher is close to FA, or already highly paid.

I feel like the bullpen will be fine.   I would like D-Rob back, and either Britton or Andrew Miller here as well.  Adam Ottavino is another guy I really like.

I think it's inevitable that they will sign Machado and probably move Andujar over to 1b.   Bird will have to claw and peck his way back in to the lineup.

Hicks/Judge/Stanton will be the main OF'ers.   I'd kind of like to see the Yanks go with Clint as the 4th OF and then bring in someone purely for speed and D to be the 5th OF.   I would not be 100% against Cutch coming back if the deal is right.   I think Gardy's time is probably over.

I would also see if the Fish would move Realmuto for a deal involving Gary.

I can them hogwild  and on the other hand , do only a little .

They could see them  sign Manny and move Andjaur to first . Sign Harper ( AND LOSE DRAFT PICK)  , move Judge to Left . Trade Stanton to Dodgers.

Lose another  pick to the DBacks for Corbin. Maybe bring back Happ on a short term deal. Bring back Britton and D Rob( you know the Sox will go after one or both).

This team is not as close to winning a World Series as we've been led to believe. The Red Sox and Astros are both still young, and their pitching isn't going away for at least the next 2 or 3 yrs. The only way the Yankees can win it all is if both, the Red Sox and Astros suffer major injuries in the next season or 2, while the Yankees stay healthy, and somehow manage to hang on in the post season with their erratic pitchers. Since there are no ace material starters available this off-season, that scenario won't be changing in the Yankees' favor anytime soon.

I'd feel a lot more comfortable with Realmuto's defense.   His bat is really good for a catcher as well.

I didn't want to do this last off-season, but now I would take a shot.   The Fish should be game to get the player they can control longer.

Gary is a monster in terms of power but we have enough of that, this team needs some defensive upgrades.

The problem is trading Sanchez off a terrible year.I like the idea but timing isn't..  They do have to improve the defense. Voits not great at 1st either.

Eovaldi added the cutter. Different pitcher.

I think they will sign one of Harper or Machado.

The Yankees need starting pitching. (Corbin or maybe a trade fro someone like Bumgarner)

They do not need power hitters, they need guys who hit for average. (No to Machado and Harper, yes to someone like Michael Brantley)

Work all winter on Sanchez and Andujar's defense.

Do not move Andujar to 1B, he can lose just as many if not more games at 1B with his glove as he can at 3B.
