2018 Midterm Elections Thread

What will the day bring as America and 'Murica get out to vote?  The news outlets are stressing the divide in our politics and the vulnerabilities in our national voting apparatus.  As I post, I am gazing at an article on CNN that lists the steps to follow if a voter is turned away at his/her polling place.  Will hacking be a key factor is races across the country?  Can we have faith in the integrity of our elections anymore?  Will turnout be significantly higher than recent midterms?  All in all, it should be a day of compelling political theater.

There will be no counting chickens before they hatch here, not in the present political climate. No jitters here either, because it won't change the vote count. It is what it is. In my opinion it's going to be up to Generation Instagram to get out and vote for democrats. Most of the future is there's and unlike election day 2016 their eyes should be wide open now. So it's up to them to be the difference makers. Either they will vote for tax cuts for the 1% at the expense of the middle class and elderly or they won't. Either they will vote for a better environment and political climate or they will vote for the fear and lies that Trump campaigned on.

Or they could vote to keep the economy rolling and for securing our border.

Just got back from casting my ballot.  I hope people are remembering LBJ's warning before the 1966 midterms...

"Racism -- whether it comes packaged in the ****'s brown shirt or a three-button suit -- destroys the moral fiber of a nation. It poisons public life. So I would urge every American to ask himself before he goes to the polls on Tuesday: Do I want to cast my vote on the basis of fear? Do I want to follow the merchants of bigotry?"

Regardless of the outcome, count on Trump and his supporters claiming victory.

In all likelihood Republicans will retain Senate majority...possibly pick up 1-2 seats. Dems may take back the majority in the House, but probably not by much. So short of a "Blue Wave", which is highly unlikely, Trump will claim victory.

That's how it works in the alternate universe which is Trumpland.

The border is secure and Dems already helped turn the economy around by supporting Obama's plan. Not everyone owns stock so the economy would be rolling more for the middle class if it wasn't for the Trump tariffs and tax cut for the 1%.

Message to Trump voters: Vote Democrat, because as soon as this election is over, no one will give a **** about the caravan. But you'll still have diabetes.
