CC is probably headed for the Hall of Fame one day and may still have one more year left in that arm. If he doesn't, the $8 M won't hinder the team much in their 2019 plans.

In light of the number of games the Yanks lost in the middle of the year because they didn't have any ready options when they needed a 6th, 7th and 8th starter, the Yanks will probably pick up at least 2 more starters, maybe 3 more if they trade Gray.

I don't think there's any 'probably' to it.  They're going to add 2 more starters.  If they don't, I'll join the people who are upset about the CC move.  He makes a ton of sense as the 5th starter but very little as the 4th.

I have no prob with this as long as B-ri comes thru and we have an established ace on this team. I don’t trust Sevy in the PS until he proves himself. I get that the ninja wants to bring in the vets for insurance but he has to come thru this offseason. There really isn’t any excuses this time. Not sure about Corbin tbh and his fly ball rate in YS but if Trashman wants to take another chance on a potential Sonny Gray #2 than that’s his funeral. I believe the only way to get that ace is to trade for him and I can see Andujar being a necessary trade piece while we go after that smug punk Macho man Undecided. Sabathia i dont believe will be sniffing the playoffs, just an innings eater to keep us in games during the regular season grind, while providing veteran presence for the youngings.

Guarantees the WS next year?      Undecided

Boone: You know my mama wanted me to be a Manager.

Judge: My dad wanted me to be a baseball player.

Boone: Well you're better than any player I ever had. And you're the best God damn player I ever saw. Suit up.

He is the 5th starter and on a cheap one year deal. You people make me laugh. You had no problem when it was Andy coming back on one year deals. Maybe because he was home grown?

Home grown and also he doesn't weigh over 300 pounds with knee issues.

300 lb with knee issues hasn't stopped him from performing the last few years.  His weight and his knee are only reasons not to sign him if they stop him from doing his job effectively.  If he pitches well despite the weight, it matters about as much as saying you don't like his haircut or one of his tattoos.

CC is a future hall of famer, who knows how to pitch even on those days when he doesn't have his best stuff. He is a great guy to have around for Severino or any other young pitcher to learn by example.

On top of that, how many times has a pitcher come to NY and fallen miserably on his face.  We know CC can pitch here.  If you're importing 3 new pitchers, what are the chances one of them is a Sonny Gray?
