Well, she did a lot more than that. She showed the reasons for the fire and why it's so bad. IMO, that proves him wrong.

Yes, it's more complex than simply forestry concerns, but I didn't really see his point being one that was wrong, either.

They should do more to curtail underbrush, controlled burns, cutting down of trees and replanting, creating huge fire lanes, even at the expense of disturbing wildlife IMO. If they are gonna try to live there and build homes in such areas, that is.

The other issues would be much harder to affect. Overpopulation? Homes built in areas not really accepting of human population? Over building of homes due to overpopulation? Lack of resources, most importantly water? Climate concerns? Strong winds? These things are hard to impossible to affect as compared to the foresty aspect. California has too many people, and has built too many homes in bad areas. They have ballooned in the past 30 years, building homes in areas where Santa Ana winds rain havoc, and forest fires kill.

But again.....of all these issues, which ones can be humanly corrected? I think Trump's statement is one of the few areas.

Donald J. Trump

Not only ignorant but, in typical fashion, resorts to threats...

The leader of the union that represents a majority of California's firefighters said Saturday that President Donald Trump should apologize for blaming the state's deadly wildfires on "poor" forest management.

"The firefighters and the communities in this state deserve an apology," said Brian Rice, president of the California Professional Firefighters union.

The Pasadena Firefighters Association declared the president "wrong."

"The fires in So. Cal are urban interface fires and have NOTHING to do with forest management," the association tweeted.

Rice agreed. "Malibu is not a logged area," he said. "It’s rolling hills and chaparral."

What's more, he said, most of the state's forests are managed by the federal government.

"The president of the United States is ignorant of the process of forest management and wildfires," he said.

U.S. acting Attorney General will consult with ethics officials on possible recusals

Will that be OK for the libs? What if the ethics offcials say he doesn't have to recuse himself?

I've pointed out numerous times why Rosenstein should recuse himself but it's ignored because the Dems don't want him to recuse himself. Again no double standard. If Whitaker does so should Rosenstein.

Whitaker offered opinions. He has to recuse himself.

Rosenstein is totally conflicted but Dems ignore it . No hypocrisy there.

Where's Rosenstein conflicted? A year and a half into the Mueller investigation and all of a sudden Rosenstein has to recuse himself, come on. He didn't pre-judge the Mueller investigation.

If the ethics officials say that Whitaker doesn't have to recuse himself so be it. What's Trump going to say if another one of his AGs has to recuse himself?

Max he's a potential witness. If they try for obstruction and he wrote the letter to support Comeys firing how does that work? He's overseeing the investigation that he could be called as a witness to. I don't think he's a dishonest guy. But he's conflicted. He signed off on a FISA warrant based on a unverified dossier. He's suppossed to be impartial but he's involved in this.

If Whitaker recuses himself Trump will not be a happy camper. He should have known this would arise and appointed somebody else but it still doesn't mean Whitaker should recuse himself. He just should have known this was coming. If he does recuse himself he will probably appoint someone else quick and that will get dragged out by the Dems as long as possible.

It shouldn't be good enough until the ethics office says yay or nay.

It depends who he picks, because the Dems didn't have any problem voting in favor of people like McMahon, Coats, Mattis, Haley and Kelly.

It's the DOJ. It's overseeing the Mueller investigation. We shall see.
