Nationals To Sign Patrick Corbin

The Nationals have agreed to a deal with veteran lefty Patrick Corbin, according to Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post (via Twitter). Terms are not yet fully clear, but indications are it’ll be a six-year contract in the range of $126MM, assuming that he passes his physical.

Oh well...Corbin made his choice...Lets remember, at the end of the day it's just business.

With Patrick Corbin headed to Washington, the Yankees will continue talking with Nathan Eovaldi, J.A. Happ and Lance Lynn about the final spot in their rotation. Have to think this also increases the chances they spend more elsewhere. Manny Machado, perhaps?

Disappointing that the Yankees are not getting Corbin, but there is nothing can happen that will make me ever want them to get Machado.

At this point they should just bring back Happ.  Eovaldi would be a mistake.  Don't love any of the other FA.  This is a letdown.

I want Harper now more than I did before.  I was certain Corbin would be a Yank.

As reported...

The Yankees apparently didn't want to go to a sixth year for Patrick Corbin. In their history, they have only given three pitchers deals of more than five years: Mike Mussina, CC Sabathia and Masahiro Tanaka.

So much for the "been a Yankee fan all my life and so is my family" nonsense. In the end, It's all about the money!  Laughing

Boone: You know my mama wanted me to be a Manager.

Judge: My dad wanted me to be a baseball player.

Boone: Well you're better than any player I ever had. And you're the best God damn player I ever saw. Suit up.

24M/year is a lot for a .500 pitcher.

Isn´t Keuchel in the mix along with Eovoldi and Happ? Take 2 out of 3 and our rotation is real strong! But I am just dreaming now since Corbin is gone.
