I find it very strange that they go...what...86 years between WC's and all of a sudden, 4 in 14 years. Coincidence or something else?

4 in 14 yrs isn't as good as 4 in 5 yrs (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000).

David Ortiz?

Selective use and covering up of PED abuse?

Carefully chosen endpoints in time?

Since 2000 the Yankees have made the playoffs 15 times, missing 4 years.

In that same time span, the Red Sox have made the playoffs 9 times, missing 10 times.

Anything can happen once the playoffs start, so although the Yankees have won 2 to the Red Sox 4, the Yankees have given themselves 6 more chances to win it all.

While this may not mean much to anyone, it is as valid as the OPs remarks.

Uh, the Yanks losing to the Dbacks and the Marlins?

It's called "luck".

If the Yanks win in 2019, will people say, Yankees 1, Red Sox 0?

This is the dumbest thing to dumb I've ever dumb dumb dumb.

How many World Series to the Yankees have overall?

so basically, if we're throwing numbers around, and most numbers would favor the Yankees, here's a few numbers that should enter the fray....lol......lets just compare Yankees last (5) world titles.....1996-'98-'99-2000-'09, and by comparison, the Red Sox last (5) world titles......1918-2004-'07-'13- & '18......ok, so five in a 23 year span for the Yankees, and by comparison, the Red Sox five in 100 years for the Red Sox.........

Yankees were last team to repeat, and oh, by the way, actually three peated....('98,'99,'00)......get back to me on that  Sox fans.......last team to three peat......the Oakland A's in '72,'73,'74..........( of course the Yankees did win (4) in a row from '36 thru '39......and even better. the Yankees won (5) straight from '49 thru '53.............

now stay with me Boston fans.......the Red Sox won five title in 100 years, and the Yankees won......all (27) in 95 years........so feel free to go back as far as you want....or....just the last 14 years........(taking nothing away from those titles) but if we're talking world titles, and years let's get it out there.......Go Yanks.....

Unlike most Yankee fans, who try to sneak in the year 2000 championship, when making an argument for the 21st century Yankees vs. the 21st century Red Sox, I know the 21st century did not begin until the year 2001, so I accept the fact that we're down 4 championships to 1 to the dirty Sox in the 21st century. The century is early. I believe we were down 4 world championships to none (5 to none if you want to include the first World Series, which the Boston Americans, who were renamed the Red Sox, also won) to the Red Sox when the 20th century started, but we all know how it ended.

It's called getting hot at the right time.

I hate to say this but it's called having the best player and playing the best baseball in America last year !!! But let's remind ourselves one thing, 2019 is another year... After all, it was just last year that the Astro's won the WS and everyone was talking about how great they were and how many WS's they would win in a row... There hasn't been a repeat WS champion for a long time and I don't think there will be one next year...
