This fight is lodged in Trump's ego, as everything is.  Are you that blind?

I agree with someone I don't care to speak to ... the Republican Senate is to blame for this ... they could easily override a veto from the President, but they apparently have lost their sense of what they are supposed to be doing for the Country ... running it.

We can talk Mo, you do understand, you just don't like the way I put things... I've in almost every case stated the truth... We've all made mistakes and I'm willing to say so... But the problem with this country is not many are willing to do just that... I can't blame Republicans for voting for donald, but I can blame them for still sticking up for this man that has been so wrong, so bad, so evil, and so against everything this great country once stood for...

The Republicans in control of our Senate have stood for everything donald has shoved down our throats, they've let donald take away laws, that have been put in place for the betterment of this country, they've covered up what his businesses and his family have done for the betterment of their party, not for what's good for the country...

My greatest hope is more people can see the wrong donald has done, like you, I know you are starting to see... I read it in several of your posts, God Bless you for doing that, it's time this country gets back to a little God loving and not blessing the Putins/donalds of the world..

I agree with a lot of what you write, I just don't express myself the way you do ... I have seen issues with Trump for a long time now ... and he is getting worse ... his reckless behavior is hurting our Country ... I wish he could be impeached ... but I don't know if that is going to be possible with a Republican Senate.

That's exactly what makes this guy so dangerous. Every single decision he makes is predicated on how he thinks it makes him look. He cares ONLY about himself, It is incredible to me that after 2 years his base can't recognize that

You and people like you have pushed for this shutdown without any thought given to the hardships and issues it would cause. All you care about is that you think it makes him look tough. Seems to me there are other and better options for border security than this stupid wall and that's what they should be negotiating. It's his shutdown, he backed himself into a corner and he proves to be a pompous arse hole on a daily basis

Democrats KNOW a barrier is needed in certain areas. But their hatred for Trump keeps them from doing what they should. President election next yr can't have Trump have his wall/barrier victory. Hope logical people see that . You trump haters won't

What victory can he declare? He promised many times that Mexico was going to pay for the wall. No matter how anyone wants to spin it, wall or no wall that's an epic failure by not keeping that promise.

The Democrats are for fencing in certain areas and I haven't heard one of them oppose a Tech-wall. But none of that has anything to do with Trump shutting down the government. 800,000 Federal workers and Farmers shouldn't be held hostage. Tarriffs are hurting Farmers and those same Framers are getting screwed again because they aren't getting their tariff relief checks.

I'd  lve to hear Pelosi or Schumer say they would agree to a Tech wall. Never happen.

Pelosi: Good evening. I appreciate the opportunity to speak directly to the American people tonight about how we can end this shutdown and meet the needs of the American people.

Sadly, much of what we have heard from President Trump throughout this senseless shutdown has been full of misinformation and even malice.

The President has chosen fear. We want to start with the facts.

The fact is: On the very first day of this Congress, House Democrats passed Senate Republican legislation to re-open government and fund smart, effective border security solutions.

But the President is rejecting these bipartisan bills which would re-open government – over his obsession with forcing American taxpayers to waste billions of dollars on an expensive and ineffective wall – a wall he always promised Mexico would pay for!

He promised to keep government shutdown for 'months or years' – no matter whom it hurts. That's just plain wrong.

The fact is: We all agree we need to secure our borders, while honoring our values: we can build the infrastructure and roads at our ports of entry; we can install new technology to scan cars and trucks for drugs coming into our nation; we can hire the personnel we need to facilitate trade and immigration at the border; we can fund more innovation to detect unauthorized crossings.

The fact is: the women and children at the border are not a security threat, they are a humanitarian challenge – a challenge that President Trump's own cruel and counterproductive policies have only deepened.

And the fact is: President Trump must stop holding the American people hostage, must stop manufacturing a crisis, and must re-open the government.

Thank you.

She conveniently left out the building of a wall at places where it is needed and that has already been approved by Congress.

She addressed everything that was relevant.

Relevant in your mind.  I think our national security is relevant and a wall is part of that security, as passed in bipartisan legislation.  Until she moves from her "not one penny" stance, there will be no agreement and the DemocRATS shouldn't be calling our national security irrelevant.

Get lost. Relevant as in regards to what had to be addressed at the time. Go seek attention somewhere else.

Typical Demonrat response.  We don't like your opinion so it shouldn't be heard.
