I read the same news, wasn't sure where to post it.  Not exactly baseball news, but nevertheless what is alleged is heious. Indeed a hypocrite as a man teaching bible studies at a Christian School.

I'm sure he will be removed, shortly, from the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame due to these circumstances, if, he is, in fact, found guilty. Sad ending to a career that was memorable at certain points.......if guilty, as charged, no sympathy from this end, but deepest sympathies to the victim, and family

As far as Wetteland, and his career with the Yankees,.............. (and I'm not trying to glorify Wetteland believe me, but only to show his accomplishments as a Yankee, and he hasn't been proven guilty, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt)..........but anyway, Wetteland had a relatively short time with the Yankees, I believe he was picked up, via, trade with the Montreal Expos in 1995, but none the less made a huge impact in the '96 season, after which he left the Yankees as a free agent, and opened the door for Mariano Rivera to take over, and he never looked back........Wetteland led the league in saves in the '96 season, with 46, and was selected to the AllStar Game........additionally, he saved the (4) games the Yankees won over Atlanta four games to two, and was named World Series MVP......as far as those four saves, I believe he is the only pitcher to tally four saves in World Series history........it's been done a few times in the playoffs, but never in the WS

His career will mean nothing, if found guilty of what he has been charged with, but he truly had a career year, for any pitcher, in a single year, in '96

Im just mad that I can never look at the 1996 final out of the world series like I used to again. Innocent until proven guilty of course, but if guilty, I will always say a pedophile was probably the main reason considering he was world series MVP that the dynasty started. It just feels dirty now to view him celebrating.

"...if, he is, in fact, found guilty."

Realize I'm sticking my neck out here, but at this point it is an accusation. If he in fact did what he is accused of, then he obviously should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Don't know how many followed the story of Oregon State pitcher Luke Heimlich. He was named the 2018 Collegiate Pitcher of the Year and likely would've been a #1 draft pick in this past draft until the story surfaced that he'd been accused and pled guilty to a charge of abusing his 6 year old niece when he was 15. Now, of course, he is a pariah.

Sad, tragic story...

Well, you're gonna get pretty much unanimous agreement on that.

Yes I got up this morning and saw this on the front page of the NY Post. This made me sick to my stomach. disgusting. If true after, all the facts are in, he should go right to jail. Another example of how you should not hold anyone in sports as a role model, when you do not know them on a  personal basis. This is the Post article. And it should be on this forum for all to see and read. It's sickening
