Trump's ex-campaign chairman, already serving time for fraud, gets additional 43 months on conspiracy charges

New York Charges Paul Manafort With 16 Crimes. If He's Convicted, Trump Can't Pardon Him.

Paul J. Manafort, President Trump's former campaign chairman, has been charged in New York with mortgage fraud and more than a dozen other state felonies, the Manhattan district attorney, Cyrus R. Vance, Jr., said Wednesday, an effort to ensure he will still face prison time if Mr. Trump pardons him for his federal crimes.

News of the indictment came shortly after Mr. Manafort was sentenced to his second federal prison term in two weeks; he now faces a combined sentence of more than seven years for tax and bank fraud and conspiracy in two related cases brought by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III.

The president has broad power to issue pardons for federal crimes, but has no such authority in state cases. While Mr. Trump has not said he intends to pardon his former campaign chairman, he has often spoken of his power to pardon and has defended Mr. Manafort on a number of occasions, calling him a "brave man."

The new state charges against Mr. Manafort are contained in a 16-count indictment that alleges a yearlong scheme in which he falsified business records to obtain millions of dollars in loans, Mr. Vance said in a news release after the federal sentencing.

And the response from Manafort's legal team:

Image result for no collusion gif

First of all, it is totally irrelevant to the reasons of his convictions.

Second of all, only the born-again stupids don't understand that

Manafort personally colluded with the Russians of behalf of Comrade Donnie.

Third of all, say what you mean:  Pardon Please, Pardon Please.

Paul Manafort will serve a total of seven and a half years in federal prison, but this doesn’t include the criminal charges that are expected to be filed in New York, Illinois, and Rhode Island.

Boy, you Liberals must be happy now.

It‘s still amusing that Manafort never would have faced charges for his life of crimes if he didn’t work for Trump for a couple months.

And you wouldn’t have cared.

Lying Donnie lies that Manafort’s sentencing is proof that he didn’t collude with Russia in White House rant

Fox’s John Roberts calls out Lying Donnie for lying about being cleared of ‘collusion’ in Manafort trial

Not good for Lying Donnie if Fox Fake News won't even give Lying Donnie cover for his lying on this issue.

No.

I bet Tony and John Podesta are guilty of the same kind of crimes since they did plenty of business with Manafort.

Think we should start an exhausting 2 year investigation into their businesses?

You know something else manny-o, there's a lot of people that f**ked up their careers if they hadn't worked for donald... When are you going to understand that donald is like a cancer and it's affecting the whole country, when you going to stop drinking his cool-aid ???

Just another guy that messed his career up, Mr. Whitaker, he was called in again in front of the congress and today he admitted he lied to them the first time he appeared in front of them... Can you imagine the people with families, kids and wifes that have to come home and tell them, I went to work for donald, now you're going to have to wait for me to get out of jail, and when I do, we're going to have to try to make a living from something else than the promising career I once had ???

How long before guys like you are going to come to your senses ????

I am not gonna go work for Trump so I ain’t worried about ruining my career.

If the Deep State hadn’t started this witch hunt as part of their “insurance policy” this garbage wouldn’t be happening.

And still no evidence of collusion despite all those careers ruined.
