More like 2 months without him when you figure in rehab time. He hasn't even gotten his pitch count up. If he's not throwing a pitch until May 1st, we likely won't see him until closer to June.

You were right on the mark with your post.

The link in your post does not work.

Everything we know about Severino's timeline says that he is supposed to begin throwing this week if everything looks good.  May 1st is not the day that Cashman expects him to throw a pitch - its the day he expects him back.  If he doesn't hit his initial target this week, that will be adjusted, obviously.

Nost's posts are how misinformation spreads.

He's starting to throw next week...  just as originally planned.  The May date was Cashman's expectation for when he'll be in a game, not when he's picking up a ball.

Talk about misinforming? Severino will resume playing catch next week

Nost has every right to be concerned ... Severino will not be ready to pitch in a Major League game until at least May 1 that means absolute best case.

That's assuming everything goes great and there are no setbacks ... or worse they find out that there was smething causing inflamation in his rotator cuff i.e. a small tear.

Christ .. When this first happened a bunch of "Rah-Rah everythings great!!!" posters were saying this was normal Spring training soreness.

We are missing 40% of our pitching staff for at least the 1st month of the season ... you'r crazy to not think that is concerning

LOL, man...  you are the worst troll...  You bolded my post saying that he would start to throw next week to correct it that he would "play catch".  OK buddy...  You win.  He's not going to start throwing, he's going to play catch.  Congrats.  You "got me".

Dads play catch with their kids in the backyard.

Pitchers pitch, throw from a mound or long toss ... playing catch is basically to see if he could even lift his arm and move it in a circular motion without pain.

Thanks for the disctinction.  Once they "play catch", a full ramp up to doing actual work follows shortly after unless there is a setback.  It isn't "play catch on 3/20" then wait 3 weeks before he starts to "throw".  Playing catch is the first step of a throwing program to get him ready.  IF he fails at "playing catch", then there is cause for concern.  Until then you are just being negative.

I think you mean Proactive

No, I mean negative.  Nothing you or I say has the ability to impact the team.  Wringing your hands in "preparation" for bad news that has not and may not come is not "proactive".  It's just worrying and being negative.
