Due to his current high value, it might be for the best to trade Andujar for a good starting pitcher, why not, while his value is at its highest now!!

With his shoulder is his value as high? It's early but today wasn't good. When Didi comes back it gets worse.

You started this conversation  saying he was a joke at third base, now you're  saying he has high current value . That's  laughable.

Well it seems like Andujar still has his defensive problems. And is a butcher at 3rd. I will take Gio Urshela gold glove at 3rd base over him any day.

Gio's glove will be sorely missed...

When all the walking wounded And big bats are back healthy, Yankees are a much better team with Gio at 3rd base then Andujar.

Then what do you do with Andujars bat, he wouldn't  get enough AB's from the DH spot ? They'll  probably  keep him at third and use Urshela as a late  inning defensive  replacement. That being said, Urshela has been pretty darn good with the bat too.

Like I said, defense is your best offense. When everyone comes back, we can afford to have Gio on 3rd instead of Andujar.

Use Andujar as trade bait for a big time Ace on the mound, and DH him for now. Gio is no bum at the plate. If you look,at the pros and cons I think, Gio has the edge. You have to look at the big picture, when Judge and Stanton, DD, and others come back to the lineup. Offense is not the Yankees problem, defense is, especially on the mound. Just my thoughts.

Tony, people are complaining about his poor defense, justifiably  so, and you think that there are teams out there willing to give up a big time ace for him? You'd have to throw in Torres and Frazier along with him to get an ace, and just what  team is willing to give up their ace?

Also  you say DH him for now ,  you know better than that  , the DH spot is a log jam as it is and he'd only play  2 or 3 days a week to fit in. There is no full time HD available  on this team.

All of that is true. So...what to do?

Gio is very smooth; made several very tough plays look easy, which were factors in Yanks successful road trip. Of course, we don't know if he'll continue hitting like he has, but I think one reason he's been productive is that he's getting the consistent playing time. I'd hate to lose him, but tough to carry a one position player...which is what he is. Had he not performed as well, defensively and offensively, most including myself would say we just have to live with Andujar's defense. Although...he can mostly DH "for now", until Stanton & Judge are back.

Yes, for his offense he's valuable, I can see another team in need of offense taking him in exchange for a starting pitcher, get it done Cashman!!

Bobby, Luvda, all great points, and I respect your views. So all we can do is agree to disagree with each other, and put it in the lap of Cashman,  the Steinbrenner's and. Boone, and hope which ever way it goes it benefits the Yankees. Bottom line, its their problem to solve and it's a good problemWink

I think Yanks will ride it out and see where it goes. I'd hate to lose Andujar's bat, but if he does have trade value I believe it'll be to a team that needs an everyday 1B. I have no doubt he could easily handle that position.

Curious to know what ace is available to the Yankees? And if such Ace is available, what value would this trading team see in Miguel Andujar?
