The Giants appear to have found the final piece to their offensive line puzzle.

Big Blue and Mike Remmers agreed to a deal in principle, NFL agent Brett Tessler tweeted Saturday afternoon, in a move largely expected over the last month.

“Happy to announce that Mike Remmers just agreed in principle to a deal with the New York Giants and is looking forward to moving back to his natural position of right tackle,” Tessler wrote. “His last 2 seasons playing that position he helped his teams to a Super Bowl and a NFC Championship game.”

Remmers, 30, had been rehabbing from minor back surgery and spent the past two seasons with the Vikings; one of which under Giants coach (and then-Minnesota offensive coordinator) Pat Shurmur. Remmers also has a connection to general manager Dave Gettleman from his time with the Panthers (2015-16).

The Giants using only one pick in the NFL draft on an offensive lineman led to speculation Remmers would be joining the team.

Gettleman has spent his first two seasons rebuilding the offensive line, which in addition to Remmers, includes Nate Solder (LT), Will Hernandez (LT), Jon Halapio (C) and Kevin Zeitler, the right guard acquired from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for Olivier Vernon earlier this season.
