Ronald Torreyes did a "good job." Does he belong in The Hall?  It's the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of Good. A HOF announcer is smoooth, polished, personable, perceptive, sharply analytical and brings the game alive and makes it exciting.  All are qualities Ms. Waldman does not possess.  If she were a male she'd be announcing for a AA team in Wyoming.

do you like anything about the Yankees?

1.  She's not a Yankee.  She's an employee of WFAN radio.

2.  You don't have to slobber all over everything and everyone connected even tangentially to the Yankees to be a "real" Yankee fan.

3.  Singleton, O'Neill, Flaherty, Cone and Leiter, in that order. Those are my favorites. You can put Waldman, Sterling and Kay on a slow boat to anywhere as far as I'm concerned.

4.  Take a break from sniffing everyone's posts for disloyalty. I see you there, judging and condemning, your antennae pulsing with suspicion at every perceived slight to Yankeedom, fulfilling your self-appointed role as Commandant of the Troll Patrol.  It's getting a little weary, already.

Wow! You like Singleton, O'Neill, Flats. Cone and Leiter. Might be your first post ever saying you like something Yankee related. Good for you, It's a start. Now, how about 50 more posts about Gardner and how you hate him because of his looks.

Make that 51. I can't wait to see him waddle out of the dugout, all flabby and chubby, at Old-Timers Day...and strike out!

HA HA HA!!!

She doesn't have to BE a Yankee... This is the RADIO HALL OF FAME..not the Yankee Hall of Fame...

And yes, because she is a pioneering WOMAN in a MAN'S world, and has been for probably longer than you've been alive, she deserves credit for the body of her work ...ESPECIALLY with having to work with "It is high, it is far, it is caught behind second base" Sterling !

Life is better when the Yankees win !

I'm perfectly aware that she's not a Yankee.  Read the post from newinn that I was answering and you'll say "Ohhh, now I understand.  That's why he said she's not a Yankee." And, in my book you don't get into an announcer's HOF if you're not a HOF-caliber announcer; it's as simple as that. You don't get any bonus points for your gender, or for your ability to work beside Sterling for so many years without shoving an icepick into the back of his head.
