They get up to play the Yankees...watch them be the same Red Sox team that lost to the O's as soon as the Bombers leave Boston.

This is not a high's and lows issue, Yanks have a serious problem with starting pitchers. If Cashman doesn't acquire a quality starter they risk falling out of first place, and possibly missing the playoffs.

I can predict that Cashman will most probably pick the wrong pitcher we trade for.

His track record for Starters is awful.

We have needed Starting Pitching, preferably an ACE for years now and he cannot deliver...

Well apparently we can get someone like Cole come the offseason, but there really isn't anything that screams ACE for the trade deadline. Our best bet is to hope for something like Boston's Eovaldi magic last year. Maybe Robbie Ray can have an anomolous second half for us? Stroman?

On top of it, Cash has waited until we are bagaining from a position of weakness after a losing streak for a Pitcher.

It's almost like he is screwing it up on purpose!!!!!

IMO it is not all Cashman's fault about who he picks to come here.  The pitching coach has a set program he runs by. He runs his scripted pitching program, that is guided by analytics almost 100% with input from what experience he has.  He then goes over each pitchers performance during ST and inserts certain ideas he has to try and increase their ability by giving them tips based on their video's and his eye balls. Once it is all set, he tries to correct their misgivings as the season progresses.

IMO, this is where he has trouble trying to "help" them overcome what he sees them doing wrong. His job is to also give our hitters tips on opposing pitchers and work with the hitting coach. Overall once he does that, he is basically just a cheerleader. I feel Larry is to old to relate any more with the pitchers, and they don't seem to respond to what he is saying, and they ain't buying what he is selling.

Many  experienced pitchers are pretty set in their ways and unless the PC has some great new innovative way to increase their sliders or curve ball, or cutters loop, they are just shrugging off his pep talks. The new young pitchers seem to be OK, with him, and as soon as they have success for awhile, they seem to want to go back to what they know and Larry can't get them back on track seemingly. That's the way I understand what the PC's job is, and Larry is old, and for the past 5 years all our pitchers seem to have gotten worse under his guidance and to be honest he is the quietest cheerleader and mopeyest motivator  I have ever seen.

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
