From ESPN:

Yankees, White Sox to play at Field of Dreams

The New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox will play a game at the famed Field of Dreams in Iowa on Aug. 13, 2020, the teams announced Thursday.

A temporary, 8,000-seat ballpark will be built at the site where the 1989 movie was filmed.

"As a sport that is proud of its history linking generations, Major League Baseball is excited to bring a regular-season game to the site of Field of Dreams," commissioner Rob Manfred said. "We look forward to celebrating the movie's enduring message of how baseball brings people together at this special cornfield in Iowa."

Construction on the ballpark will begin Tuesday, one year before the game will be played. Dimensions of the ballpark were not announced.

That's really cool....

One of my favorite Baseball movies...

Here's one of my favorite quotes from the movie...

"They'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again."

I think Kevin Costner should throw out the 1st pitch to Shoeless Joe.

They'll probably wear old-timey uniforms.

Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes. This is a great story. And one of my all-time favorite movies!

I'm looking forward to this event too! I hope the White Sox wear their 1919 uniforms, and the Yankees wear their uniforms similar to what it looked like that year as well.
