They're still in the wildcard race. I am always afraid of them. Like the movie monsters, you can't relax until they are officially dead. You don't want them getting into the playoffs via the wildcard.

Not afraid of them, but I get your point. If they get a Wild Card bid anything can happen.

Regardless of what their record is this year, they're a very good, dangerous team.

So, 2004 still haunts your dreams? rofl

Look, they've had a few good years and won some titles, but there have been a lot of bad years too. They will always be the 2003 version, and not the 2004 version in my mind. And they will always play second fiddle to the Yanks....or in this year's case, 3rd behind the Rays.

2004 was definitely very emotionally scarring for me but it has been more than that. Yes they have had a few bad years but in the years where they are good, they seem to have our number. Add to that, seeing them coast to 4 World Series titles where it seems their competition just hands it to them (Cardinals (2x), Rockies and Dodgers) while we struggle in the postseason more often than not has made me a basketcase.

I used to enjoy and look forward to postseason baseball but now it is just very stressful. And with the RS in it, the added stress of having to worry about the Yankees losing AND the RS winning is just something I do not need.
