It can't be any more clear now that Republicans have committed to placing Trump above the law.  Their tactics in the House hearings have degenerated to procedural disruption, complaining about the process moving too quickly, and lying through their teeth about testimony delivered by witnesses so far in a desperate attempt to spread disinformation and confuse the public.

I'm sure Dems would have gladly extended the process had Trump & his White House cabal not blocked witnesses from testifying, thereby ignoring House subpoenas in violation of the Constitution's guarantee of separation of powers.

It's one of the biggest cover ups in the history of this country and it's being done by the Republican Party... Now if that isn't obstruction I don't know what is ??? It's right in front of American's eyes just what donald, mitch, nunes, jordon, barr and several other top republicans are doing, if we had honest justice they'd all be in jail...

Exactly!  If the Senate votes to acquit Trump, it will be as flagrant a political travesty as this country has ever seen.

For anyone to assert that there is no evidence against Trump is the height of foolishness.  There was enough evidence to remove him after the release of the Mueller Report.  Contrast what Trump has done since the 2016 campaign began with the flimsy excuse the Republicans used to impeach Clinton.  The hypocrisy of the GOP's "constitutional scholar", Jonathan Turley, has been thoroughly revealed by the news media as videos of his full-fledged support of Clinton's impeachment is contrasted with his rationalization that Trump's abuse of power and obstruction of justice do not constitute sufficient reason for Congressional action.  Turley has deservedly been labeled a shameless hack.

It's amazing how innocent donald and the rest of his cronies are yet they won't say a word to protect themselves except one lie after another lie... That's probably the reason they don't want to testify is that they then would get caught in all the lies they have told...

Lying under oath won't end well. They don't want to be forced to tell the truth.  Big mouth Nunes, Gaetz, Jordan, Collins can do nothing to provide them with a fire wall if they lie.

That doesn't seem to matter to them, lies on top of lies seem to add up to the truth when it comes to Republicans...

Some of them seem to think the yelling, interupting, and being childish shows that the facts are on their side.

Some of them are also saying the democrats are rushing the impeachment. The democrats have enough evidence so they don't need to wait months for court rulings. If the democrats did choose to wait for court rulings.. Is anyone here going to deny that the republicans would accuse the democrats of wanting to drag out impeachment until the presidential election?

How come they aren't using the precedent talking point anymore? Could it be because past precedent shows that Nixon and Clinton didn't stop their aides from testifying?

The Dems are in the process of shredding the opening statements of GOP lawyer Stephen Castor as Republican committee members continue to attempt to disrupt the proceedings.  Good on Nadler for keeping the hearing on track.

This is a sad-sad day we Americans are seeing what a democracy in this country has become, the laws of the land, the constitution of the US means absolutely nothing to the Republican Party and it's going to be up to the voting American people to correct this problem, if we don't get out and vote at record numbers to get this man out of office we have no one to blame but ourselves...

Democrats are expected to unveil two articles of impeachment against President Trump on Tuesday that will focus on abuse of power and obstructing Congress and would be voted on by the full House next week, according to three officials familiar with the matter.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) met with Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) and other committee chairmen Monday night after a nine-hour hearing in which a Democratic counsel laid out the party’s case against Trump. The three officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss the private talks, cautioned that the plan had not been finalized.

Leaving a meeting with Pelosi, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot L. Engel (D-N.Y.) told reporters that he and the chairmen of other House committees would announce specific articles at a news conference at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

At an event hosted by the Wall Street Journal Monday night, Pelosi said no final decision had been made.
