Wow, what a classy guy. I hope the Cardinals don't have any fans that are children.

And how about Boone and his "f--king savages" ranting?

If you think Torre didn't curse a blue streak at his team a few times during the run -- ESPECIALLY after the Yanks got swept by the expansion Rays in 1998 late in the season -- you're crazy.

They're ****ing adults saying adult things.  Any responsible parent doesn't allow their kids to roam around on Twitter to even find this.

Adults should be able to get their point across in a more intelligent way than swearing every other word. MLB used to target children as their audience.

You are right. If he cannot articulate himself more professionally and/or intelligently than that, perhaps he should consider investing in a course to expand his vocabulary, which would enable him to do so.

Same goes for David  Ortiz after the Boston  marathon bombing  spewing f bombs at Fenway.

Or LeBron James after the NBA Championship doing the same thing with a bunch of little kids in the front row.

Uh huh. There were no cursing with the 1927 Yankees. They were choir f'ing boys. Laughing

You know what hasn't existed before the 2000's?

Cell phone cameras and social media.

There's a story about a naked Babe Ruth being chased by a naked woman brandishing a knife through a train. The reporters shrugged and said "Well, that never happened."

Heck, Jim Bouton got basically blacklisted because of "Ball Four", which left out the juiciest parts. If Mickey Mantle were a player today, you can bet his sexual abuse as a child would be a part of the narrative of his career.

There's a big difference  between cursing in front of  the players or umpires which I'm sure every  manager or player does, and doing it in front of a TV  camera and the media. Big difference .

If Boone or Torre spoke like that in front of a camera, then they were wrong too. Doesn't matter what uniform someone wears.

I don't  remember  Torre, Girardi  or Boone ever cursing in front of the camera  or media.

An idiot player recorded and posted that. What is said in the clubhouse should stay there, it had nothing to do with children. Blame the irresponsible player who let the speech out. That player let kids into that clubhouse, don't blame a Manager for what was intended to be private.

You are right. If he cannot articulate himself more professionally and/or intelligently than that, perhaps he should consider investing in a course to expand his vocabulary, which would enable him to do so.

Same goes for David  Ortiz after the Boston  marathon bombing  spewing f bombs at Fenway.

Ortiz said what he did from the Fenway infield, Shildt said his thing in a closed clubhouse. BIG DIFFERENCE PEOPLE! Time to get off the high horses, Shildt said that ONLY to his team. The guy who recorded and posted it is equal to a creep filming you under the $hithouse door.

Definitely a big difference between a closed clubhouse and on the field in front of the world. But, grown men should still be able to express themselves intelligently without using an expletive every other word, no matter what the venue. Of course, thats just my &$#%^@ opinion and you (*&#$^ are free to think whatever the ^#$&( you want.

I think it's pretty unfair to criticize him for using colorful language in a fired emotional up situation of celebrating a tough playoff victory in the privacy of the clubhouse.

The speech was not meant for public consumption. It was a private moment between a manager and his team. It was streamed by a rookie who speaks broken english who likely didn't even realize what he was streaming.

Should it have been released? No. Should he speak like that in front of children? I think if he thought children would hear it, he wouldn't have. But should we indict him for using that language in a clubhouse? Grow up

If anything, Aaron Boone had a far bigger transgression because he knew he was on TV, and he knew kids were in the stands. But like Boone didn't realize a hot mic would pick him up, Shildt didn't realize he was being streamed.

Oh well, we're all grownups, we'll get over it

You are welcome to recall my posts when it becomes that i'm proven wrong as long as we judge it on the merits of what we knew to be true at the time it was posted.

I #%$@&^%$(*&^ will, LOL.  A major league postseason clubhouse isn't really a place for intelligent expression after you win a hard fought series. More like a "savage" lair... That speech was intended to be private.
