Stranger comes into town, does nothing, and leaves. Too bad he couldn't pitch.

And so the paranoid fantasies begin--again, e.g., we sign J. D. Martinez or someone else does for 100 mil. or so and that gives the new Red Sox management monetary room to pay for Betts' coming big contract day.

We have Andujar coming back, I don't think he goes anywhere, I think the Yankees would be foolish to move/trade/do anything with Andujar but find a place for him and his bat to play, and besides that, he's cheap for a few years as well...

Yanks have to shed some salary, and he is no longer a $20m per player, nor is he needed on this team.

can anyone tell me who has had a similiar operation to Andujar and how they came back offensively from that injury?

didn't really matter.  Even if he had hit, say, .350/4/8 in the post season, there was never any likelihood of them picking up his $20 M option.

From the Writer ...

"Among the 17 examples, I didn’t find a strong correlation between pre- and post-injury output. On average, batters didn’t see their offensive output tick down at all in their first or second seasons back. In fact, their wRC+ and SLG marks stayed fairly consistent."
