Can they hire a real hitting coach now? You know, someone who either has a batting title in their resume OR has been a great hitter throughout their career instead of a career .240s dude who was never really a great player...

I know, 6 minutes wouldn't have been a shock.

Huh?

Charlie Lau was a career .255 hitter. Considered one of the best hitting coaches ever.

Walt Hriniak? .253 career BA.

Ted Williams? He was fired a year after being hired as a hitting coach.

Did you expect significantly better results from Torres, Urshela, LeMahieu, Voit, Ford, Tauchman, etc?  Hitting coaches have to be guys that struggled or were consummate students of the game.  A natural couldn't help a struggling hitter.

The team had Don Mattlying as a MLB Hitting Coach,  but he left to be MLB Manager, also they had Hall of Famer Bill Dickey in the 1950-1960's.

Charlie Lau hit .255 as a MLB Player, he was with the Yankees and Royals. George Brett swore by him as a great MLB hitting Coach.
