Two week abbreviated spring training starting mid June, season starts July 1st?

Works for me. Frankly, baseball is a summer game.
March/November games...played in snow & freezing temps; not for me. Honestly wouldn't mind seeing the season shortened permanently, although I know it'll never happen. $$$$$
I wouldn't mind the season starting in July, either. With regards to the All Star Game, I don't need it.
I don't mind the shortened season (i.e 70+ games) for this year. IMO, it would be fun. The season would no longer be a marathon, nor would it be a sprint. I guess it would be something in-between. It would force Aaron Boone and all the other MLB Managers to manage their team with more sense of urgency, as if it were August rather than April.
As for shortening the season permanently.......HECK NO. Why would anyone want to see that happen?

Agree re starting this season Juy 1, which would obviously mean no ASG.
As for permanently shortening the season...as I said, that will never happen but it wouldn't break my heart if it did. The strike shortened '95 season (144 games) worked just fine for me.
Baseball in cold, dreary weather is not my idea of fun, and I'm not much of a fan of indoor baseball...although it would still be necessary in hot climate locations like Arizona & Texas.
