If Mike Trout says, "Thanks, no. I'm not doing 2020", I think that'll be the beginning of the end of the season.

As things progress and more players are found to be sick (the virus is still here, it's virtually impossible for it not to happen), more and more established players will find it senseless to play.  Honestly, I agree with them.  Trout has a 9 figure net worth; he's more than able to just stay the heck home and not risk his health and that of anyone with which he has contact.  If we're still asking everyone to limit their activity to those that are necessary, why are we asking a bunch of millionaires that are more than capable of staying at home for a year to go out and play a game for us?

Trout is concerned about his family's health especially with Hhs wife is due with a baby in October. That's more important than a 60 game season.

a 60 game season is meaningless enough but if lots of the top guys like trout & price opt out and other players are quarantining, the games become even more meaningless. as much as i'm jonesing for baseball, there unfortunately is a point of diminishing returns where the games just become exhibitions.

hate to say it, but I seriously have doubts, that a pitch will ever be thrown this year, given the news for the last couple of weeks.........dread the thought of it, but even though I don't like it, I understand........and though would love to see baseball start up, not too keen on the 60 game format..........was excited at first, but knew in the back of my mind, that plenty of things need to align for this to happen........back to the day by day "let's see what happens" thought process.........Go Yanks

If Price or Trout don't play, then they shouldn't be paid.

It's that simple.

Remember, these millionaires are not "regular" people, like those who get up every morning to the grocery store.......because they work there. Those guys are far.....FAR......more at risk than David Price or Mike Trout. Price and Trout probably don't take "mass transit" to work,....do you think? They probably don't use public restrooms.......do you think?

BATS, it's a given that if they don't play they don't expect to be paid.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious, we'd be lost if not for your vast wisdom...

The grocery store employees also don't have the luxury of living off of their vast savings until the virus has died out.   It's easy to pass on work when you are so wealthy that you don't need to work.

Ultimately it's their decision and I can somewhat understand if they have an extreme at-risk family member, but a lot of ordinary people who are their fans and made them rich in the first place don't get to make such choices.

David Price. He's a joke. He turned out to be a real mal content and cry baby so no one is  shocked at this.. I'm pretty sure no one is going to miss an over rated, headed downhill pitcher miss 60 games. He most likely would have missed half of them anyway with his IL track record.

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
