That's what this 60 game nonsense was all about. The players and the owners couldn't even agree on the money! Owners were going to split the profits 50 - 50, but that wasn't good enough for the union. They said it sounded like a cap, and they hate caps. So they never got together and finally the union told the owners to do what ever you want, but we will be pro rated which means players get full salary per game! Guess people unable to work means little to these millionaires. Not to mention the health cost and wasted covid testing so they can make there millions while people that need it have to wait! I hope the season gets cancelled and the fat cats sit at home like the rest of us! Had to get that off my chest. Sorry, but it's the truth they don't want us to hear!

It has always been all about the money... always will be.

The players have to look out for themselves, just like any of us have to. They asked the owners to open the books and prove their claims... The owners refused. Tells me they were trying to BS their way to free money, typical scumbag move.

Normally, I would side with the owners on this.
But you're right. Without opening the books, the REAL books, the players have no reason to agree to their demands. Even if the virus isn't a problem by next spring training, we might be looking at a long shutdown/strike next year. If so, that might kill off MLB for good.

If the owners are smart, they will keep playing... But they're going to be greedy.

Until the end of modern civilization, it will always be about money for every single thing.
