Here is a question

I cannot remember the name of the Detroit player; he was black skinny and ugly but what a power he had. He hit a homer so hard and so high everyone thought it was going to land outside of the old Yankee Stadium. I close my eyes and I see this player but cannot remember the name. His homer was Epic. I don´t know if the homer was further than the one Mickey hit was around 600FT from home plate, I think it hit the façade of Yankee Stadium but did not leave the park.

Does anyone remember him? He did not play in the '60s maybe the 1980s but not sure

Larry Herndon or Chet Lemon maybe?    Just guessing as I don't remember that particular home run.

Chet Lemon, who reached the third deck in left field in the old stadium.

I remember Chet Lemon and Larry Herndon either could be the player. Could it be Barbaro Garbey? he was an ugly Cuban reminded me of Goofy, without the long ears but not sure. What I remember was a Titanic Homer and I think the next day he had one similar. Of course, it happened so long ago. I do remember Reggie Jackson blast that left Tiger Stadium.

A friend of mine from work, he passed some years ago told me he was at Yankee the Stadium when Mickey hit his Gargantuan Homer. He said as soon as it hit everyone took pause it was so huge they thought it cleared the Yankee Stadium Facade in Right Field, but it did not. Mighty Mickey!
