He's coming off of TJ surgery, I expected a bit of rust.  In a normal season I would have given him more time than this season lasts to get his swing and timing down.   41 games and people are all over a player who's rusty and returning from surgery.

He's walking over 20% of the time, has over a .370 OBP and still hasn't gotten it going at all with the bat.   Imagine if he does.   You'd be talking about a switch hitting CF with an OBP over .400 and with power.

But yeah, he sucks.   Even though he's on a pace for close to a 4 WAR season and hasn't gotten his swing going yet, terrible.  Killing the team.

Agree ... Hicks is good player. Much better than Gardner or Tauchman

He' a very good fielder,  has a high OBP, and natural power (unlike Gardner who's avg and OBP suffer significantly when he is swinging for the fences)

I think if Hicks stays healthy he has some very good years ahead of him ... He's kind of Bernie light ... Bernie without the high avg

Bernie light?? Yeah, very light. Bernie without the high average, now that is laughable. What natural power, look at his home run totals the past couple of years and he has 4 this year. Some power.

LADY ... No One and I mean No One values your uneducated baseball opinion. You are defintely the most uneducated baseball fan on this site ... that's not close and not debatable.

Hicks' 162 game avg from 2017 to 2019 is 31HR 96RBI and 99 BBs ...

Bernies career 162 game avg is 22 HR 98 RBI and 85 BBS

So Hicks actually walks at a higher rate than Bernie and has more power ... Bernie is without question the better hitter overall and better player but they have similarities ... you just wouldnt undertsand but that's ok

And your delusion continues. They have similarities?? You're comparing Bernies career .290 ba and 289 home runs, 1257 rbi to Hicks .234 ba 86 home runs and 289 rbi???  And,  you're going to compare Hicks 3 year pro rated statistics to Bernies actual statistics? Hicks has only played 100 plus games 3 years in his career so you can pro rate all you want but you're comparing apples to oranges. You're not only delusional, you're an idiot. I'd look in the mirror before calling someone uneducated. I've forgotten more baseball than you ever knew, which obviously isn't much.

Sounds like you forgot everything ...including how to read

Sounds like you're still delusional. Comparing Bernie to Hicks, can't make this up. As I said you're comparing apples to oranges, and you're too oblivious to see that. Just look at the numbers. Bernie light?? Yeah right, night and day. I can read just fine, and read the crap you posted, it's laughable.

LADY ... As you proclaimed you've forgotten what little you knew about baseball.  I hope you are well ... but  please understand that we did not value your opinion before your memory loss and we certainly do not value it now.

Your reading comprehension stinks along with your delusional thoughts. I said, now listen carefully, I've forgotten more about baseball than you ever knew. It's probably to difficult for your weak mind to comprehend, but try. BTW who is WE, I think it's more you and your delusions QimQam.

Oh no this is worse than I thought ... I'm not sure if you realize this but you already told us that you are very forgetful.

As far as "We" ... I feel comfortable speaking for the rest of the board when I say this ... We all agree that you are lovely yet forgetful person, trust me my Grandma is the same way, but no one and I mean no one values your baseball knowledge or whatever is left of it.

You feel comfortable with speaking for the rest of the board??? This coming from the delusional one who is the laughing stock of this board. Take a poll, 95% of the people on this board think you're an idiot. You don't even get the comparison of I forgot more than you ever knew. Sad you have to go through life being both delusional and an idiot. Sorry, I'd have more success having a discussion with a rock.

first of all, let's see him healthy so we can see what he really can do. and he's more like bernie ultra-light. let's see bernie hit .300+ 8 seasons. oh 100 RBI 5 times. 5 time all star. let's throw in 4 gold gloves. hicks has an 0-fer in all those departments. whenever bernie came up in a big spot, i was confident that he would come through. not so with hicksie. i've always thought of bernie as part of the core 5. hicks ain't even close.

would be thrilled if he turned into even a bernie light. the good news i guess is that his contract isn't onerous so he can be traded.

Well Bumper, he's the most delusional poster on this board and trying to talk common sense to him is impossible. Comparing Hicks to Bernie is like comparing a Cadillac to a Yugo.

Luv, given some of the folks, past and persent, who post here "most delusional poster" is a pretty high bar.  No doubt he is certainly in the running, but the competition is fierce.

"Most delusionial"... hmm, let me think about that one! Lol!

Once again Luke does his thing, TWICE! The guy is becoming a wrecking ball. I want to give Urschela props also and a welcome back! He is becoming one smooth operator the more he gets comfortable and he has  become a big part of this team. Our nucleus is growing and soon this team will be hard to beat. DJ, Luke, Urschela, Frazier, Torres, Judge and even Hicks are all getting better together as a team. Now if only we can keep them off the IL and playing together for a season it would be a tough team to beat. Garcia added to Severino coming back next season and producing, would be icing on the cake with Cole. Finding a more dependable catcher and a closer would be a great Christmas present to add to that team.

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

More and more, I'm starting to view Luke Voit as one of Cashman's greatest signings.

I mean, Voit is going to get MVP votes this year. And no one even knew who the guy was, when we traded for him in 2018.

Why would they need a closer? Chapman is signed through 2022. He isn't going anywhere that I know of.

yup. like him or not, we got 2 more years. lost my trust in ottavino. green & britton are fine but do think we can use more hard throwing young arms like the rays have.
