Luke has been doing it all season and I just think he deserves a thread all his own. To many threads on here lately have been for the players that have been struggling, well here is one for one of the guys that has been doin' it all season and just had a career night. Congrats Luke to on a hell of a game and I just hope his foot heals before the playoffs. As long as it isn't a bone problem or a sprain I am sure he will play through it. 2 dingers and 6 RBI's that's what they call "lit". You play a real cool hand Luke!

Luke has been outstanding offensively for the Yankees and at times has been about the only Yankee swinging well.  It's easy to take a good hitting first baseman for granted until you don't have one and we have had recent history of not having one.  Voit has been an incredible under the radar get, we gave up a good young pen arm for him but we clearly won that trade.

One of the facts I got off of one of the post games shows got me a little surprised on Luke. Since he has arrived, including his time on the IL and the time on the IL for Stanton and Judge he has 51 home runs and Aaron and Stanton have 49 each. Obviously Judge and Stanton have a lot more time on the IL. He is now tie with Trout with 16 for this season. Pretty good company I would say, and on the cheap!  Also ever since his little "speech" about the Yankees rough time we have won 3 in a row.

Because he is a class guy he never threw anyone under the bus he directed it at the "Team" when he said guys were trying to be "someone else" and trying to do to much. His foot was wrapped a little "off" and he had it re wrapped after the double header and said now it feels a lot better and he and Boone say it is not a problem and knowing Luke he will get through it and hopefully stay on his rampage. Looking for a little leadership, maybe this team just found some. Yankees are on a run it needs to keep up and we will make the playoffs somehow.

No one really knew Gallegos would be that good either, and relievers can be flighty.   Yanks got the W in that deal for sure.

Gio Gallegos was a pretty highly touted prospect for his stuff but the Yankees made the deal from a position of strength.  The Cards certainly weren't pinning their hopes on Chasen Shreve when they made this deal.  The Yankees went out looking to fill a need and gave up some potential to fill the need. It was a good deal for both teams.

By the way, Gio is going to the DL apparently.

Way to go Luke!! Just a game winning sac fly after a major battle against their pitcher fouling off 7 or 8 pitches til he got one to drive to the outfield. Ho hum. So predictable Luke. Just another big hit for Cool Hand Luke! Love this guys focus in big spots lately especially. All business.

A real tough at bat that led to the sac fly. So glad the O's decided to pitch to him, as he has been clutch.

Question Jim. If Luke stays hot, which from all indications he just might, and Judge comes back, do you take Judge coming off a long IL stint, and put him back in the 2 hole or do you leave Luke there and put Judge in the three hole where he should be all the time anyway IMO. Your old school, what is your answer to that? If you see this Newinn, what would you do there?
