Did Higgy just open the Yankees eyes?

By the way, I had no problem with the Yankees moving on from Didi this season but I had a big problem benching him for the playoffs last year. I have no problem moving on from Sanchez next year but a big problem moving on from him this year. Sitting vets can have a real bad effect on a locker room.

When the Yanks talked about much less playing time for Gardner last year (pre injuries) he was fine with it and said to do whats best for the team. You think Sanchez would react the same way? What will guys that like Judge think if they benched Sanchez. We don't know this stuff except that we hear this is a close teams so I would think it might cause a problem. I've always said that in baseball, more than any other sport, managing the locker room is the hardest part of a managers job. Hell half of us can manage the strategy of a baseball game but we have no idea of the dynamics of a locker.

Now I've stated my opinion, everyone is free to disagree but not much left for me to say

So you're not making long range plans for his HOF induction?

I don't get this runnong the team on a day to day basis. Based on last night Judge should be sitting, Frazier in right and Andujar in left. You just don't manage teams that way.

new on your team you don't play who's hot and who's not ??? What have you seen from Sanchez that wants him be your #1 catcher over Higgy ?? Higgy has played and every game he's played he's been the better catcher, the only thing I will give Sanchez the better of is his arm..Higgy usually puts the bat on the ball, that's important to me.. I've seen many a pitches that Higgy has got out from his crouch to block pitches that Sanchez usually is running back to get, he's so much a better as a defensive catcher... And for you to say defence is so important like I heard you say so often, especially when it comes to Andujar, who you say shouldn't be player because he's a butcher on defense ?? To me Sanchez is just as much a butcher on defense as Andujar is, but Andujar can hit and Gary Sanchez can't...

no, on my team you don't play the who's hot and who's not when you are talking about guys that have established themselves as the core of the team. You can't have players questioning if they will have an opportunity to hit their way out of a slump. Keep yanking veteran players around in season and see how long you keep your locker.

There has been a good option to Andujar at third and in the outfield and at first. You have a 30 year old minor leaguer as an option to Sanchez. No thank you.

You call Sanchez an established part of this team ?? He had one good season and that was his first, he had a part of a second season and has stunk up the place ever since, he's a terrible defensive catcher with a pretty good arm, but it seems every game he catches he costs us, maybe not a blatant error but balls that should have been blocked or something else, he either hits a home run or he strikes out, it seems when he runs into one it's when you don't need it, but when the bases are loade, and I can think of a lot of times he's came up in that situation he strikes out... I'm not saying Higgy is a HOF catcher, but right now he's doing better in every respect than Sanchez is... And I don't care how much money Stanton is getting I'd much rather have Andujar as our DH than Stanton...

Just saying newinn ... don't think Sanchez is really a veteran and don't think it would create havoc in the lockerroom if Higgy was given one more day to see if his bat is actually that hot.

Well you know I don't hold my opinions to be set in stone ... I don't say that I know everything there is to know about baseball ... they are just my opinions and usually the manager doesn't agree.  Innocent

Look arguing about hot hands is something some people want to see and baseball is now an entertainment industry. My problem is Yankee baseball right now is just getting to the point where whatever we think should happen, doesn't. I agree it doesn't make sense to me and a lot of others on here to play Gary Sanchez and say he is a veteran is crazy.

He has been here a long time yes, that doesn't give him veteran rights IMO.  He had one good season and that was his first and it was a partial season where the pitchers didn't know him and he went ape with home runs and Cashman fell in love and Gary became his project and his boy.  He also has had some hot streaks with homeruns. But they were short lived....It is that simple and no one will change my mind. He did it with Bird and how did that turn out? Now he is doing it with Gardner.

He has his pets, and right now the two pets are Gardner and Sanchez. Both are not helping the Yankees and people are getting frustrated seeing them in the line up every day, and a guy who just hit three home runs is benched. Simple. That is not making sense to many fans and it is all over the media all day about Higgy and his three homeruns and he is on the bench. To the average fan that doesn't get involved with message boards, talk radio or tv news shows........it seems ridiculous.

To me as a long time Yankee fan it also seems ridiculous. It just does. Doesn't make anyone more right or wrong than another. We all want the same thing. We want to see the Yankees win and we want the guy who just hit three homeruns to be rewarded and get to play again over a guy who is hitting .134. That makes no sense in any language.

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Well I don't think we can say what the average fan would want ... we haven't taken a poll on this.
