What to Do About Stanton?

He's now batting .185 over his last 16 games with 4 RBIs from the cleanup spot!?!?!?

That includes a 4 hit game during that span. Take that game away and he's batting .125 with 6 hits and 2 RBIs  in 15 games

Just because players make a lot of money doesn't give them a right to be in the starting lineup... The object of this game is to win... It seems owners never learn, managers never learn, Stanton going to be the DH because he's making too much money... Andujar was sent down because he didn't have a position, how many games would we have won if we had a hitter like Andujar hitting in Stanton's place in the batting order... It's no different with Sanchez and it's getting close to that point with Judge... Being a blind fan is the same as a coach who's hands are tied by a huge contract... Just how many fans would rather see a hitter like DJL come up to the plate instead of Judge, Stanton, Sanchez ??? Hell, I would rather see Andujar coming to plate than any of the guys I mentioned... We have to remember one thing, we are the "Bronx Bombers" and we have to live up to that name or we're not successful...

I said it all along. As long as the Yankees have so many swing for the fences guys on the team, they will never win a championship. This team needs more DJ LeMahieus and a lot less Stantons, Judges and Sanchezes.

sorry YOF, throwing the flag hard here ...

judge?!? look the guy's been slumping since his return. i know the post-season starts next week but "judging" a player on a weeks worth of games is crazy. can he get it together in time to make an impact. don't have the answer but health issues and your frustrations aside, you're talking about someone who's one of the biggest impact players in the game - our franchise player.

sure the money's a factor w stanton but you're talking about a guy who had an elite season 3 yrs ago. and 38 HRs, and 100 RBI 2 yrs ago ain't too shabby either. injured as much as he's been healthy, he's another player who can make a major impact in a game and they're gonna give him that chance.

thinking the last sands in the hourglass on sanchez may be about to fall. they sat him last night and hinted he may be sharing playing time in the post-season w higgy. he's another one, who when right can carry a team but it may be time to move on.

as for miggy, i've been one of his biggest cheerleaders on this forum. but truth be told he was god awful for his first dozen games. happily he has appeared to turn it around but maybe too little too late for them to give up on stanton.

Judge and even Sanchez should never be mentioned in the same negative breath as Stanton.

Plenty of reasons why

1- Obviously the Money ... Neither of these guys get paid

2- They are both home grown Yankees and because of that always deserve the benefit of the doubt.

3- They are both plus defensive players. Some may argue that Sanchez is not but you'd be wrong. He has one of the strongest C arms in the MLB and despite his on and off offense he is one of the top 5 hitting catchers in the MLB with massive potential.  Judge is one of the best defensive RFers in baseball and an absolute weapon offensively and defensively ... His WAR and OPS back that up year after year.

4- Stanton just sux ...period. He could be released today and the Yankees immediately become a better team. He is an injury prone DH that cant hit and he is not well liked by players or fans

He should not be batting cleanup in the playoffs and in the off season do anything possible to get this guy out of here. $30 million for slumping injury prone DH.

Unfortunately, money talks and today the size of one's contract has a direct bearing on how much they play.  Stanton will be in the lineup foir every game of the post season (barring injury, of course).  Teams do not sit $30 M/year players unless they are getting ready to bite the bullet and cut ties - see ARod and Ellsbury.

A good chunk of the ABs Stanton and Judge are getting in actual games are ABs they should have been getting in minor league games prior to being activated.

You'd have a tough time (impossible?) finding a taker.

So how do you know that Stanton is not well liked by players ... you have an inside scoop on the Yankee players and who they do and don't like?
