I know there are some fans that believe he should be traded because of his value but I said and believe that ultimately Glyber is the guy they will build the team around. I see this kid as a potential 320 hitter with 30 home run power.

I think they need to get him off short and I'm not sure how they will do that but despite a streaky 2020 season I see him as a serious potential multiple MVP candidate

I haven't seen anyone here say he should be traded, but that would be a very foolish and short-sighted move. I also believe it is imperative that Yanks re-sign DJ.

Short of letting DJ go, or trading Voit or Gio, his only IF spot is SS. Is his play at SS bad enough to justify any of those moves?

There were a couple that suggested he be traded in order to protect their favorite player. I thought he was brutal at short this year and I don't think he's built like a short stop. IMO you can't hide a bad glove at 3rd or short. Not happy with a poor defensive catcher but the Yanks did get away with Posada for years.

Frankly he's not that great of a 2B either. As I've said several times, I believe his best IF position is 3B, but I wouldn't want to see Yanks move Gio to accommodate that.

You know I've talked about moving him to LF but, as you've said, highly doubtful that's even a consideration for Yanks. So...looks like either Yanks gamble that Gleyber's defense improves enough to justify keeping him at SS, or Voit or DJ is the odd man out.

Voit makes $500k and is arguably the best offesnive player on the team ... He is not going anywhere

If they sign DJ they are probably going to have the same infield as last year ... which isnt bad at all

If they Dont they will have to sign a SS and move Gleyber to 2nd

I don't have your optimism about Gleyber ... but I do expect him to be a good contributor and I don't want to see him traded.

I think the Yankees should shop Torres because because he is one of the few assets that could fetch back a quality arm. As pointed out above, Torres is a bad shorstop, adequate 2nd baseman and no better than the second best option at 3rd. He is a fine right handed bat on a team loaded with them. I would not at all be surprised if the hit 320 with 30 home runs, maybe a couple of times. But I've seen guys do that for teams with losing records.

The Yankees are four starters short of a full rotation. They are pressed up against the LT with players are locked in to big contracts. The market for guys like Voit and Andujar is limited. If you can trade them for pitching, that is fine but I doubt you will get much back. And so that means it is time for Torres to go.
