Their has been speculation around big names that the Yankees may be interested in. Those names include Shane Victorino and Justin Upton, but as Brian Cashman said, he isn't willing to give up big prospects for a player who will only marginally help. It has also been rumored that the Phillies are rumored to be selling at the deadline. I'm not talking about a Victorino for the outfield, or a Hamels to bolster the rotation, those moves would be good, but a trade for Juan Pierre would make perfect sense for the Yankees. Pierre, 34 years old is only making $800,000 this season, so he would not be expensive to the Yankees. Prospects the Yankees would have to give up? I would say most likely Pierre will not cost much, maybe trading Zoilo Almonte and another low level-single A prospect if need may be. Pierre is currently hitting a solid .315 in 273 plate appearances with 21 stolen bases.
