If school can go year round these days without a break, why can't baseball?
New York All Americans
Derek Jeter, Brett Gardner, David Robertson, Mark Teixiera, Nick Swisher, Mariano Rivera, and of course the all time best, Lou Gehrig
Favorite Sports Memory:
My first trip to old Yankee stadium...also the exact moment I fell in love with the Boys in the Bronx. I was 15 years old, grew up in Texas and had traveled to about 10 other MLB stadiums at the time (including Fenway the day before; which, at the time I had ambiguous feelings toward the Bostonians and their wicked stupid team; but within 5 minutes of being shoved around since I wasn't a local...well, the decision wasn't difficult.) That moment I stood at the gates of the historic field in the Bronx, and read the quotes from all the greats, I cried and looked at my dad. I said, "This place is so magical! How can you NOT be a Yankees fan, especially after feeling this presence that surrounds the entire stadium and knowing you breathe the same air and walk the same ground as the greatest players baseball has ever seen??? I was sold for life.
Least Favorite Teams:
Anything or any being that plays in a uniform with swear words across the chest like, Boston or a clever pseudonym for it (like New England...how can you claim 7 states for your football team????? Arrogant bliss)
Favorite TV Shows:
Sportsnation, Arrested Development, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Beavis and Butthead, and rebroadcast games on YES! (wow, that wasn't unpaid advertising or anything)
Funny Games, The Pride of the Yankees, The Natural, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Enter the Void, and pretty much anything without Jimmy Fallon
