Good Evening from Korea Everybody,
The Yankees had a difficult series this weekend in Oakland, but there are some considerations that we must think about before becoming too alarmed. First, it is a long season and currently the Yankees hold the best record in all of baseball even after loosing 4 straight. The team is still on pace to win approximately 95 games which will most likely capture the AL East Title. Through the course of a 162 game season you are going to go through high's & low's. Being a Yankee fan, I would prefer to see the Yankees peaking in September and not July. Therefore, a 4 game loosing streak in July can be a good thing to help the team ref-focus on getting back to how they are built to win.
Another thing to consider is how well that young pitching staff in Oakland did in shutting down the Yankees offense. Great command of the fastball, and good off-speed pitching shut down that high-powered offense. There were several points in these games over the weekend where Yankee hitters could of taken advantage of mistakes from these young pitchers, but we were not able to capitilize. That is part of the game of baseball and it happens.
A very good positive from the series this weekend was our starting pitching. I was very impressed of how well the staff focused and battled through some adversity through the games this wekeend. They all showed character and was able to focus and pitch late into the games withough taxing the bullpen.
The Yankees will rebound from this series as the veteran leadership and stellar coaching will get them back on track in Seattle. We take two of three in Seattle and come home to put the Red Sox away for the season.
