After hibernating for the winter, I, Glenny G, am back on the blogging horse here at the dot com as Spring Training picks up steam. I’ll be based out of YES Central in
• I think the Phil\Joba fifth starter storyline will be the most overdone by the time Spring Training is over, but the early leader is Derek Jeter's contract status. What a total non-issue. Does anyone think there’s really a chance he’s not wearing pinstripes in 2011?
• Jesus Montero’s power hasn’t shocked anyone given his massive build, and I for one can’t wait for him to hit the Majors. How great are the headlines going to be? Game-winning homer? ‘Jesus Saves.’ If he breaks out of a slump? ‘Jesus Lives.’ Caps a big comeback? ‘It’s a Miracle!’
• Let’s be honest. This team is stacked. When big issues are your fifth starter, a second lefty reliever, and the 25th man, the future is bright. Realistically, based on how things look now, health is the only issue that could stop the Yankees from at least returning to the ALCS.
